Not done much with the airgun fella but have pegged out rabbits with the shotgun to good effect with a couple of decoys ... try setting up next to a well known large sitty try and they should hopefully sit long enough to let a pellet off at them .... make sure your hides as natural as possible and your well coverd up face make the works and sit still youll be fine let us know how you get on pal

all right lads no need to argue ... im 19 years old and went to college on a gamekeeping course and all the lads were on about was terriers i went out with three of four lads who had dogs and helped them dig ... i also bolted many a fox outta clay drains around bolton ... i met a whipper in for a hunt on my course and he had a handy foxin bitch hence i got my pup ok so im not a total tool and i know roughly what am deein bt am nee expert like always helps to get some tips and results at the end of the day !

Fair play to all the lads comments ill take them on board and try my best jamie i think ill struggle with follwoing a hunt they just dont seem interested in letting young lads have a look w there pups all aboutt he older lads who get there dogs in and job dont and they dont seem to like letting me or otheres tag along ... as for the lurcher that marks fox why :S a terrier can do exactly the same job of marking fox and fox only why would i need a lurcher ? these local spots within walking distance are never more then 5 holes maximum and i suppose its what meks it a sport if you dropped on every

Personally when it comes to grey squirrels to eradicate them form a wood several opitions are needed .... Live cage traps for me are a must buy yourself one or two and deploy them at the base of well used squirrel trees. Pre-bait the areas a few days before deploying the traps so the squirrels become used to the feeding area ... bait you live cage trap and for bait i prefer nutella or peanut butter with nuts or sweetcorn ... cover the trap entirly with logs and leave the entrance open squirrels arent scared of traps but it saved other unwated attention. thanks for all the info lads i guess your right though i dont drive so i only do local and probablies every other man and his dog will be checking the same spots as me im obv not checking now as ive gave it a rest and honestly im out most days of the week walking my dogs looking for new spots i literally pray to come round a corner and find a nice 3 holer with massive kickouts ...

yeah pal shes already been dug to once i dont doubt the dogs finding ability at all she finds rats no bother in the rubbish tips and has marked fox to ground for older more experienced terriers to enter ....

yeh obv ive stopped now bt you get to that point mate when ya check 6 or 7 in a morning every few days and theres never even interest from the pup of scent !

Alright lads me again , im not new to diggin and have been at it for a few years but this is the second winter up and comming for my pup what tips and trick could some of you more experienced lads give me ... how many earths should i check a day before giving up ... whens the best time of day to check whats the best weather conditions etc ... i really would like to know more about comming across foxes cos every earth i check no matter waht type of weather or time of day is empty ... if anyone can help me it would be much appreciated would really like to get my bitch going this year thanks all

Ryan no offence to you mate but your bull bitch looks very wide chested and bully on the front end .. does she ever have problems fitting or finding ? cheers atb atch ( not to hurl abuse just wondering long as she does the job eh )

Thanks lads i hope she turns into a good earth dog already seend bits just really need to get her bang into it this winter ... least i know she's mustard on rats showed up the older dogs on that day
