  4. So she insults her neighbours in a national newspaper and shouts at them from the safety of her car and then calls *them* rude and wonders why nobody likes her. Stupid bitch, flee back to the city and never cross the M25 again.
  5. I've got the game ordered and it should be delivered this week. I buy maybe 1 or 2 games a year but the Assassins Creed series is defanitly my favourite. I've been waiting for this one for a while!
  6. How long does it take a beaver to knaw through a tree like that? The one in the Cadbury's Caramel advert did it in seconds!
  7. Rabbits, squirrels, pigeons, yes. Magpies and rats, no!
  8. I'm a gardener at a big country house. My dog comes to work with me and has a bed in the tea room when I can't have him with me in the garden. We pretty much have the run of the estate so no excuse not to take the dog out.
  9. I only managed to watch the first 20 minutes before I couldn't take being patronised anymore. I found the bit on grey squirrels very interesting. Know your enemy! If those beavers spread out of control then I'm moving north to become a fur trapper.
  10. We all get paid the same on mine. Beaters with or without dogs and Pickers Up regardless of how many dogs they have. £25 for everybody and I've never seen a short handed day. Very fair I think.
  11. nice one I am sure i will be able to assassinate a few of the grey ones round here as there are still a few reds around and i know the greys are killing the poor little buggers off. If you have reds too then it is your duty to shoot the greys! I find them on the ground more often than not at the moment but if you spook one up a tree then get within range and stand still. Keep scanning the branches and it won't be long before the squirrel pokes it's head up to see if you're still there or not.
  12. There's a lot of new members joining from Kent lately! Welcome to the forum.
  13. To be fair to nobs though (and I'm not a member) they must have far more beaters looking for shoots than shoots looking for beaters. Some of the beaters on the shoot I pick up on have been there for decades.
  14. Nice to see another member from 7oaks on here. Welcome to the forum.
  15. Good luck with it. I look forward to hearing about your progress.
  16. Was a good programme. She didn't hold back on what she thinks of bunny-huggers!
  17. I follow nobs on twitter, they've advertised several "beaters required" ads on there.
  18. You won't want to get a fully trained dog unless you're minted, they can easily coat over £1000. I'd always go for a pup anyway so you can develop the bond between man and dog right from the off. As for training classes there are many Gundog clubs all over the country that hold weekly training classes or 1-2-1 tuition, google is your friend.
  19. BARF - the prep is easy, no need to cook anything (it's not raw food if it's cooked). For every meal my labx gets chicken carcasses or lamb bones and minced butchers scraps. Once or twice a week he gets a whole sardine, an egg (including shell) and fine chopped veg (all raw) and table scraps whenever there are any (not often in my house). My dog looks great, he works great and his stools are small and solid. I wouldn't recommend anything else.
  20. Glad to hear he's working well. I do love to see a good swimming retrieve!
  21. If you have a problem with the wages perhaps you should take it up with the keeper. Let us know how you get on.
  22. £25, but I see it as a bonus to a great day working my dog. It's not about the money money money.
  23. It's Joe Irving, and a spaniel training/working friend of mine swears by that book.
  24. They should all be collected together and put in an un-natural history museum of their own.
