  1. Look em up on the Internet. Their site has a list of suppliers or you can order straight from the site and they deliver.
  2. One of the other pickers up on the shoot I pick up on is an A panel judge. He works 4 labs and puts the rest of us to shame! Another picker uper is a B panel judge.
  3. Where would you stand regarding animal welfare and the law if you woke up in the morning to fInd someone (no prizes for guessing who) had released a small herd of horses onto your land during the night?
  4. No more biased than any other poll ever conducted!
  5. I was thinking of going with the CA mainly because they cover injuries to working dogs as part of the package.
  6. Tried watching this the other day but couldn't stand David Tennant's inane narration. The visuals were good though, may try watching it with the sound off!
  7. You may find that his run-in with the Weimaraners has already cured this problem for you. If it hasn't try walking your dog on a lead. My dog walks off lead most of the time but if I see other dogs the lead goes back on. Eventually it'll learn what is expected of it. There's no shame in walking your dog on a lead, especially if it saves you a £400 vet bill. Shock collars really are the absolute last resort. There is a danger it'll turn your dog into a nervous wreck that is terrified of other dogs and refuses to leave your side, ever.
  8. They're about to "discuss" this on Radio 2. Let's see how many anti gun nutters ring in.
  9. I always feed chicken carcasses whole but I have to put them in the bowl last after I've mixed up the mince, offal, veg + whatever. The first thing my dog does is pick them out and drop them on the floor so he can eat the mince first!
  10. Skycat for for the advice I needed when swapping my dog from dry food to BARF. There aren't many authors who would give out so much information for free.
  11. Mooch.

    Mobiles

    No hunting ban either.
  12. Mine's white gold but I hardly ever wear it so it still looks good.
  13. Excellent. Any idea how I can solve my joining problem? i also joined the fourm when you posted this thread and like that am still awaiting the activation email !! niall_b73 That's reassuring if nothing else! I thought I was just being thick.
  14. Good man, about 4 months should do it! Get the pup working to voice commands first, then introduce hand signals, then whistle commands. Don't make the (classic) mistake I did and try and go to fast. Keep it simple and keep your commands consistent.
  15. Excellent. Any idea how I can solve my joining problem?
  16. It's the Adamantine skeleton. The bears hurt their teeth on it!
  17. The pheasant population always seems to explode around October time near me but they must have a tough time over winter because there's always a lot less by February.
  18. Is anybody here also a member of the Gundog Training Forum? I've tried to join but I'm not receiving the confirmation email. The site says I should contact a site admin but doesn't say how. If you're a member could you please find me an email address for a site admin? Many thanks
  19. I had my sister and her family visit yesterday so as it was Sunday I roasted a joint of lamb shoulder (bargain find in Tescos, was £18 reduced to £8 ). I've now been left with a tray full of solidified roasted lamb fat. As dogs get most of their energy from eating animal fat would this be a good addition to my dogs meals or should I just put it on the bird table?
  20. Best of luck with it mate. Little and often is the key to training pups. Keep the lessons short but repeat repeat repeat!
  21. Which ever pitch you like. The important thing is you always use a whistle with the same pitch.
