  2. You have to have land permission slips until you are able to have an "open" ticket which then you can shoot land at your discretion
  3. Take the foxes out = More bunnies for you Ive had the same dilema im currently in the process too. Unlike you though ive ive not shot Air rifles out at 50-60 yards and ive been advised to go for the .22 to "get my eye in" and learn. When i went to my local FAD he showed me both. One thing i will say is the .22 Is unbelievably quiet! im willing to sacrifice the extra power from the .17. Alot Cheaper Also! Ive just put a deposit on my Rifle... Brand New Synthetic Stock 10 Shot semi-auto Mossberg 702 + Decent Scope + Mod £200! The cheapest .17 he could offer me was £150 and i

  6. I guess its a bit of both a big flat field wouldnt be suitable but i guess a smaller field with a nice big bank behind would be... I guess its just down to FLO's Discretion. Only Dropped mine in on Monday and Jeeeeeez its been the longest week EVER! hope they hurry! Im fed up with tip-toeing this time of year to get close enough with the SG! There all too wise of it by now!
  7. I have got a Deben Mini Lamp and it came with a pouch and small 12v battery the brightness is ok... Ive got a slightly bigger 12v battery which i use for my hand held lamp when i connect that battery the Deben is sooooo much more brighter. Will this be ok? will the light handle it? Ive also heard you can upgrade to 100w bulb instead of the 75w is this correct? Thankyou Jono
  8. Ive just Sent off for mine... Always put in more than one land application form incase the 1st gets refused for some reason (it helps speed up the process) and i also put two A4 Pictures of the land i wash to shoot and highlighted the boundaries in red (Easily done on google earth with a Screen shot and paint) It all gives you brownie points I applied for a .17HMR OR .22LR ... As i will not be able to afford to have both just yet Put what you like down as they can always say Yes or No Jono

Great advice ... the more and more i read the more pleased i am about making the choice of going for the .22 The FAD also said to me that no matter what he buys and sells he always keeps a .22 in the cabinet!

  15. Make a small hole in the plasterboard where it cant be seen and see how far the block is behind the board... Our cupboard is the same but when we drilled through it was only dot and dabbed therfor the block was only an inch behind the board. I used 4" Grabs and its solid as a rock. Just an idea if it makes it more convienient Jono
  16. Thanks for the replies guys much appreciated i wouldnt expect to go out even within the first few months and be striking them down even at yards i think itll take alot of practise and trying out of different techniques and getting used to the drop of the bullet and windage etc as its all new to me!! Ive been watching aload of "zinaroon's" videos on youtube on shooting and follow through etc all stuff ive learnt and am going to have to put into practise! Like one of you have mentioned im going to zero in at 60 yards. Which seems quite a comfortable range and will produce a nice clean a
  17. Hi Guys Just thought id share with you that my names Jono im 20 Years old Im Currently applying for my FAC I had my heart set on a .17 HMR because of the pure power and accuracy ... Until I Went to My Local Dealer today and he recommended for a first Rifle to go for the .22LR (He said hes shot rabbits at just over 100 Yards with one of these) So i took his word for it, He had 2 Guns there for me to look at. One Being a Brand New Synthetic MagTech 7022 for £100 and the other Being a 1965 "something" CZ £110 I had a feel of both of them and a quick hold and the Fact that its So li
