Nice shots, I like the one in black and white. what camera did you use. Because they are all really good. -
Took this one a few months back early evening before it was dark. with fuji finepix s8000fd. This is what I was trying to achieve with the other picture.

I took this picture the other night of the moon. I don't quite know what has happened camera settings were f8 Manual focus 0.4 secs shutter speed ISO 800 300mm On Tripod No flash white balance daylight. I didn't aim at the moon directly it was to the left of the shot. It looks like I have another green planet there

land rover replied to spiderpig's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
I've got a fuji finepix s8000fd.Bridge camera. I have taken loads of close up shots with it with excellent results. It also has the facility to go down to 1cm super macro. Its also got 18x zoom. (Mind you the quality at that end is not that good!) I have learned with this camera and now have moved on to 450d. I'm just about to put it on the bay. (Wanted to keep it but have to get some money back towards new one) -
Hi Kay, I don't know what camera you have, but I have a bridge fuji camera, and I went on to the faqs section by ian b and there is a good tutorial for a 350d and 400d canon. Even though we may not have the same camera, I found it useful for the basic settings. Since reading it I hardly ever use the auto settings on my camera. just thought this might help.

Very Nice Pics, what camera did you use? -
These were taking with my 18x zoom Fuji Finepix S8000fd I have had it for 18 months. Lots of fun with it. But now going to sell and buy a dslr. Rabbit was taken at full zoom. not digital. super Macro on it is fantastic. Ideal with the image stabilization, I can even go riding and take photos.

I made 5 out of these amounts. 8 oz shortcrust pastry. I use half lard and half margarine. while the pastry is resting in the fridge. Very finely dice. 1 medium onion, 1 large carrot, 1 med potato, ( you could have a smaller potatoe and put in some swede) Mix them together with a pinch of mixed herbs, salt and pepper. (You could ad a dash of worcester sauce) I ground some fresh venison in the food processor. and mixed it with the vegetables. Leave to one side. Roll the pastry out and cut out with a saucer. wet the edges with water and place a spoonful on the pastry (don't

Farmers Markets - selling jellies & syrups
land rover replied to Groverdog's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
Our local farmers market, sell osterich meat, feather dusters from the osterich, burgers which they cook on a griddle and always have a que. Also the same for venison. There is also a man that sells meat pies cooked and uncooked most of which are game when in season, I would think they would sell very well moreso in the autumn winter. Have a go. whats there to lose. GOOD LUCK! -
Funny you should mention it, but I made some venison pasties this morning. Had one for lunch really nice with tomato sauce. rest for Mr land rover's docky. ( if you want the recipe let me know)

Does anyone know of any stop protectors on the market, that actually work.?

Hedge Trimmers (Petrol) What Ye Reckon?
land rover replied to a topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
I had a stihl hedgecutter, one that you could turn the handle round for different angles. Brilliant machine cut through the toughest hawthorn hedge. like butter. Unfortunately, while my wife and I were indoors on a very windy stormy night in March last year, reading for Hunting life forum. Some to rags came and visited our garden, cut through five padlocks and made away with our beloved huskvarna chainsaw and my few month old stihl hedgecutter. we were insured but in the end we bought an electric cheap one, under £20 so if they want this one they can have it. Although I do miss my stihl. A -
Hi there, I recently tried my sigma 75-300 lens on a 350D the error message came up. I had been using it on a Canon EOS film slr. I emailed the sigma people giving them all the lens details and what camera I wanted to use it on they got back to me very quickly. Unfortunately the lens would not fit. So I now have it for sale paid a lot of money for it. now having to sell. They said that some lenses if they are fairly new can have a chip put into them to work on Dslr's . basically they ere very helpful. http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/ hope this is useful.

The nest is in the eaves of our stable. there is a slight breeze coming through. The swallows have been nesting in the stable since 1989. Some years They have had three lots of chicks and had no problem, the last two years they have got to the stage where they are fluttering around the stable, then for no reason I found them dead on the floor last year four the year before 3. Then again the other day one was on the floor and the others in the nest. they had just started to get their feathers. The stable is empty but the horse has never bothered them. I just don't know why this keeps happe

took this photo some years ago. At 7-30 am one was facing the other way, when I went back at 8am they were all the same way round, SAY CHEESE! I found a dead chick on the floor of the stable the other day, when I looked in the nest there were three more dead chicks. The only thing I can think of is that it poured with rain for 3 days solid and was cold. Shame.
