  1. Aye thats true, but lots of lads are taking amounts of game that others wouldnt think possible, Now I admit, that is one hell of a lot of foxes, but because I have not seen it dont make it a lie If he had said 100 a week then yeah, but 9 if your travelling about dont seem out the way to me....that said, you would have to put some serious time in to get those numbers. atb At no point in that blokes post did he say that he was taking 6-9 foxes, 5 nights a week every week.....he said "4s and 5s upto 9...3 to 5 nights a week most of the season".....that is more than possible IMHO its

  6. yep go along with that, any x will take a fox the odd 1 month or so. But really to do them pre ban , say 6-9 in a week and they all get bite sooner or later. You wont beat a well bred bullxgrey, from proven stuff. Its not they can catch+kill better than other xs, its the tenacity that they have and pain they can handle, that most xs dont have. And thats the big differnce , and thats why i think they are the best for fox control 6 to 9 a week lol try that a night 3 to 4 sometimes 5 times a week an then you see what in talking about not to mention other tackle that was taken aswell all pr
  7. i didnt do it with just 1 dog a was out that many times had a few dogs on aswell as mates dogs but we were bagging so obviously dogs got some stick an like a said earlier seen some of the best some worse and owned some of them too no dogs gonna take that amount single a was saying there the amounts that were taken to prove a point that to get a proper fox dog it needs to be tested an the dogs were at numbers

  13. the very best and the very worst lol fox dogs ive seen are the plain old bull x but ive had pure greyhound that absolutely slaughtered foxs so lurchers bred with the right greyhound in the mix should hopefully make good foxing lurchers pre ban of course
  14. call me thick ive only been into lurchers twenty odd year but whats a stag hound please mate ? ? basicly its a long coated kangaroo dog. thats been bred stag to stag for a lot of generations yes mate seen them now there from australia not seen many over here though thanks mate for joggin the old memory
  15. I suppose my point is, I dont feel it wrong to have a dog PTR (as lab so eloquently put it) once it hits retirement as hounds are and many other working breeds as long as the dog is treated well while it is alive. That was my point about culling a failure being no different to culling a retired dog, neither did anything malicious, just no longer an asset to the kennel or line. Its not for me but I have good mates that do it as kennel space to them is at a premium. I just genuinely dont see a problem with it but I do have a problem when people let emotion cause a dog unecessary suffering. It al

  17. depends how many foxs your getting an if your running single doubled or tripled or as some idiots quadrupled lol jackers will catch an kill odd uns but when your talking numbers it seperates the propa fox dogs from the 1 a month foxing lurcher,.
  18. you dont look the type to do much walking lol lol no offence mate
  19. Hang on fella, I said I havnt a problem with people that do! I never said I did. I stated my personal opinion. I make my decisions based on my dogs well being not on my own emotions. Ive seen retired dogs rotting away as well as dogs quite happily enjoying retirement, depends on the dog. Read what I posted and come back with a decent intelligent reply or dont reply at all! If you take offence to my statement that sentimentality doesnt come into it then thats your business as its just my opinion. Let emotions get in the way of what has to be done and your not doing the right thing are you?
  20. Cock on! my sentiments exactly Some dogs dont want to retire, even though to continue grafting would kill them. Forcing them to retire breaks this sort of dogs spirit. IMO culling a retired dog is no different to culling a failure, I dont believe for a minute that dogs work for us they work for themselves because its in their blood, its their addiction. A dog that fails to make the grade doesnt necessarily want to please its owner any less, but it doesnt have the minerals for the job its owner wants. So for me culling is culling no matter the reason and if you follow that path sentim
