I made one for my gcse project this year mate, i was told make it as much not box like as you can .i.e bow back is what i done also moving parts like the lid but i put a sliding tray on the bottom to clean the crap also done it on the top aswel to keep the ferrets in

niceone lads i just dont know how they can all charge diferent and so much for something that might not work
-
in my experience of cornered rats in buildings they're usually head first in the corner arse out and others will pile on top of them Y.I.S Leeview yer they clean the wounds but yer cant always win ye never no what damage is done inside and in a build the rat does put it bum out but in a hole if the ferret is entered the rat will look for a safe spot so like a dead end and it will turn around and face out and if your ferret goes in then it will get hurt and it can end fatel but ive found the hobs turn away from trouble and most jills will fight just my experience tbh everyone has diffe

lads i phoned about 20 vets today for quotes on how much it would be to get my hob vasecotmised and the price range was rediculous i had qoutes from £62.50 all the way up to £145 , i dont understand how there can be so much of a price difference from two vets seems to me that there just bad rip offs . also how can you expect some one to pay 145 for a op that may not even work anyway i was also wondering if any of use had had your hobs done and how much it cost you ? niceone atomo

ive never dung down to a ferret contfronting a doe yet again i never said i did but i have witnessed dead ferrets , theres a place round here called the showcase and the rats there a huge never in my years with ferrets have i seen any as big , ive never had a ferret of mine die as i dont use them on rats as ive said but a couple of lads i no have had a couple of jills die from doing rats so yeno it does happen, most of the ferrets die after theyve got them home because of nasty injurys therefore being killed by a rat so dont try and kid the fella his ferrets will only get marked up because t

and how did we manage before smokers(less than 20yrs ago)to bolt rats? Y.I.S Leeview no were in that did i say that ferrets can not do rats mate i said if your gonna do it with ferrets expect deaths and injurys but me myself id use a smoke, try reading it properly
-
ye mate you can but as most people who own ferrets would say use a smoker its easier, by all means use a ferret but expect them to get hurt because no matter what they will always get hurt also most ferrets that do rats dont live as long as the ones that dont it takes it out of them , me myself i would use a smoker but every man to themselfs. expect injurys and maybe deaths if you do use ferrets goodluck atomo

kay this one was is my first ferret had her 3 years and she was also a stray i have handled her allot also
-
well yesterday i opened the nest box to see if she had had the kits yet and she hadnt so i was just stroking her when she bite my hand but not to hard so i thought if she bites me it my own fault , so i just relaxed seeing if she would let go,little did i no she pulled my hand around by her teets and dropped it there then started cleaning it like it was a kit so i thought shes gonna drop them soon came back an hour later and she had had her first one left her to it now she has 11 but this morning i was feeding her and she grabbed my hand agen only this time was trying to pull it into the nest
-
natures only one time a season mate but sometime they come in twice but i wouldnt breed her twice shell be died if you keep doing it the kits will drain her of her energy
-
do you leave a light on in were they live because thats early and for her to come into season twice a season thats heavy you must have a light left on over night
-
i agree with the idea but then again stubbys got a good point if they really wanted to no theyd use a book or the search option
-
thanks lads

all youse old folk arnt that diffrent to what we do now we still do all these things but one of the favourites now are robbing the metal dust caps off peoples cars and getting chase im 15 and dont do much of it no more but the best chase we get is in the park ,wardens we get a load of use and jump the fences ansd wall to the main house in the park and its the funniest thing in the pitch black they come after you in vans and you fall over on all sorts its a good laugh and proud to say i havent been caught yet .the funniest ive seen was in the snow the other month my mate ran to someones door a

what would you say is a good first x for you first lurcher ?
atomo replied to atomo's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
thanks lads i like saluki x but i take it there abit far fetched to begin with the ? -
you can come on here and ask for advice but its not half as useful as a good book most books have everything you need to know some things you cant learn from experience + with a book itll teach you things you might need to no urgently in the future. I thought ferrets were easy to look after but theres more to them than i realised at first.so get a book it wont half help and then if theres anyother problems post it up here (im not having a go,it justs helps to have one ) ps.41-43 days it is mate atb..atomo.
