About Me

I was born in 1964, Albisola is a pretty town on the Mediterranean sea (NW of Italy).

My father was a passionate hunter (faisan and hare) but pratically I was never able to go hunting with him as he quit when I was only ten years old. In 1960-70 hunting in Italy was very different from nowadays: less rules, more game, more freedom to hunt everywhere(and much more hunters too!). When the license became too expensive and the game decreased, my Dad decided to stop, you know, we were six in my family and he was the only one working...

And yet some of his passion kept on harbouring in me. When I got married in 1993 we moved a bit inland, in the country, I knew a neighbour, a expert hunter, asked to join him to have a taste of hunt and learn the basis. He accepted.

The following year followed a course, took my license exam, passed and became a true hunter.

Ok, with 'true hunter' I've exaggerated a bit!

What do you imagine when you think about hunting in Liguria?

Maybe It's worse than you think:

the hunting season begins at mid-september and close totally at the end of january.

In october/november there is some migration, but if the weather is bad (like last year) you don't have many chances.

Liguria is a montainous region, no arable fields, no marshland, just some stretch of wood so, no hares, no rabbits, no faisans.

My father went hunting freely in the near Piedmont, I cannot because the authorization is not granted.

Yes, some wild boar is present and some roebuck too but to be honest I would prefere some more bird instead. If you find that strange ask me why and I will explain.

But this is another story. I've been too boring? If yes, please, excuse me.

Bye,

Seb
