Well just a recap on the Browning Maxus. Ive had it three weeks coming up to 500 cartridges through it already. And in the last 200 shots its failed to shoot the third round twice but they are dirty cartridges, I only had to pull the shell clear with my finger so no big deal. Im hoping its just teething as its a brand new gun but I did notice a sharp burr on the bolt that was scoring the inside of the chamber, Ive filed it off now with a diamond file and it hasnt failed to eject since, but Im not 100% satisfyed after spending over a grand, these things should be not overlooked.

I sent you my e mail mate for some pics thanks.

I did the rest of the 250 shells and it hasnt missed a beat since. But Ive bought a slab of 32grms today to be safe thanks for the advise, To be honest that night I cleaned it and I had dropped a bit of rolling bacco in the action when rolling a siggy so it was my fault, anyway had a great day with it yesterday didnt fail with 29grms cartridges all day.

My Browning jammed a few times the other day using 6s it was easily sorted but Im pretty fu*ked off scene as it was over £1000 It is being fed 70mm 6s like the gunshop told me to feed it on and it still failed to eject today twice, Its under warrenty but the shop is 2 hour away. But Im hoping it is down to the gun being new its just coming up to 180 cartridges old, Ive stripped and cleaned it every time Ive taken it out and lubed it accordingly It is going back if it does it again. After it jammed It shot another 30 or so cartridges ok afterwards but its on my mind now. Maybe I

Sounds like thats your problem its a 100 acre crop. Had it have been a 30 acre field surrounded by cover then a decent knowledge of when they arrive to feed and where they approach from then a spread may draw em in better. But when they can just lift up and move on to the other half of the field your stuffed without either someone at the other end of the field or some flags in the ground flightline or no flightline. Im a firm believer that Rape is a food source they will hammer when there is nothing else doing in desparation inmo, they will hammer berries in the cold before rape.
-
Just the basics, study the flight lines and approach of the birds to a particular field and times of day they feed often early then again in the afternoon.. Then start off with around a dozen decoys placed under the flightline in a rough horse shoe shape but staggered so they aren't too uniform and place them least 25-30 yrds from your hide.. Try to face the majority of birds into the wind and build a hide so as the wind is into your back, so in effect the birds will be flying upwind towards you and dropping into the centre of your decoy pattern.

Italians Lives In London Or Close?
engraver replied to giannifrullo's topic in Pigeon Shooting & Decoying
Find the Beretta shop in London lots of italian shooters in there. -
Funny that mate I had the same dilemma I was thinking about a quad or another 4x4, I was sceptical with the "gaylander" reputation and what not but forget that if that means its no good off road that's not the case, its designed for it not like half of these Chelsea tractors, but it will drive well on the road too. I definitely made the right decision. Quad wouldn't get me anywhere this hasn't to be honest, I had read they are good off road but I cant believe the crap its got me through this winter, as the tractors have mashed up the fields and tracks good and proper especially in the

I went out last night in the blizzard never seen snow drifts like it in these parts, theres a path on one of my shoots with high banks either side and each side was a snow drift at least 20ft high, higher than my bungalow I should have got a picture. I admit I wasnt out with the airgun but my new semi auto but 2 of the five pigeons I shot could have been got with the airgun as I walked straight underneath them sitting in the branches of a fur tree away from the howling blizzard. It felt pretty unsporting blowing em out of the trees with a semi auto so I made sure they were breasted and

It all depends some days it works other days it will put birds off, depends also where your shooting and if the birds have been shot at before and what they are feeding on, you dont see many crows feeding on a field of rape but you do on a drilled field so thats when Ill take the crow decoys. I think on the days it doesnt work its because the sun can shine on a black decoy or it rains heavy and makes them look unrealistic, also a crow placed too near the edges of a field can put birds off. I would say never buy those plastic decoys buy flocked crows every time and make sure they are fu

I was told that, and I was actually going to look at a secondhand extrema 2 in cammo until was told the small issue of the barrel being ovalled so you could hardly get the chokes in and out it had probably swelled due to big loads and too tight choke.. So I was a no brainer I got the cammo browning maxus brand new for the same money and it was lighter more adjustable better cammo finish and softer shooting, and has a five year guarante. Im not knocking the berettas as Im a beretta man, I love em and I would have bought the new extrema 2 in cammo had I have had a spare £1700 but I have

Just buy one mate they are only about £12 and they come with crocodile clips for the wings. Ive found they seem to be better than making em as they will take the weight of a real bird once you shoot one as some home made ones dont. The main thing is when its windy they tend to twist upside down which is a ball ache as you have to keep breaking cover to sort it. If you have an old fishing rod you could use the top sections to creat the same effect its just getting it to not turn in the soil and attatching your bird to it. For the sake of a tenner call it it isnt worth the time m

I went out last night for the first time with my new browning maxus for a bit of roost shooting in the snow. I thought the woodies would be heading for a fur wood I know and sure enough they were. Anyhow I shot my first few rounds into a snow covered muck heap to check the pattern and at 30 yrd it looked good pretty flat shooting as I had already added the two spacers provided. Anyhow I had a decent hour before dark and the gun shot flawlessly I only took a box of cartridges no 6s and it spat then all out perfectly up to now Im impressed, Im glad I picked the 26" barrels as I would

Never had any decent sport decoying in the snow. The rake method is suposed to work but I think if you can get on some rape that is long enough to poke through the snow is about the only decent chance you will get fot a decent bag, well it is around here.
-
Put something like a dead rabbit down and spread its intestines all over the place put a couple of flocked crow decoys round it and get well concealed in range, should work in this snow but be up early.

Got A Problem With A New Gun! I Cant Hit Anything With It Im Confused.
engraver replied to engraver's topic in Clay Shooting
Ive got a Browning maxus on order I pick up next week and its adjustable so Ill c how I get on with that and if I cant get that shooting well again then I know its me, and Ill just put some hours in on the clays again sharpen me up a bit. But sometimes Ive read a few articles about guns shooting high but that shouldnt be a problem as I know for example some Blazer F3s are set up to shoot high as your not blanking out your sight picture with some shots like you do with a flat shooting guns, I like a gun to shoot a bit high but not silly high. I just dont know with this Berreta ive got, -

Ive never had a lesson but Ive shot 48s before with my last beretta and the Guerini and won a few prizes. I can usually pick anything up and shoot em, in fact my mate had and old zoli he paid £120 for and it only has a 14" stock so I said just lend up your gun to se if I can hit owt and I even shot that better than mine but he wouldnt swap me lol I have known people with old Baikels win other mates with Kriegoffs so Im fully aware its not what you pay for a gun its how it fits, the thing thats got me baffled is the fact this gun I have is exactly the same dimentions of the last Beretta -
Must be police approved and in the south yorkshire area. Ive got up 50cm wide and 48cm depth of room to fit it into, bigger the better.

For Sale 5 Rifle Gun Safe Sold..sold..sold
engraver replied to Mananddogs's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Is this still for sale? -
The first shotgun I owned was a brand new grd3 Browning 425 with a 14 3/4" stock pretty straight and I shot the gun well but it was a game gun so it kicked on the clays after 75 or so. So I bought a Beretta silver pigeon 3 brand new and the stock dimensions just suited me perfect and my scores improved no end with it on the clays in fact I shot it better than Ive ever shot another gun. Anyhow I was doing more game in the end so I traded both for one gun as swapping guns isnt good for your technique and I thought I buy something that can do both game and clays equally as well, so I boug

If someone is good there good doesn't matter where they come from and how they were brought up. Just like any other sport. I suppose many dont make it in the professional ring because the dont have the discipline to train professionally and prepared to give up their social lives and change their diet. Its all about devotion, fury himself has only just started training "properly" and eating "properly" he has only winged it up to recently. Natural talent only carries you so far then its about devotion to your sport and training that carries you on to be a champ I suppose, I never
