  3. Hi mate bull greyhound x colly greyhound I think he is good but fairly new to this and not had him out with other dogs to compare him with. he's still fairly young just over 2
  4. Hi I have a 2.5 acre field and was wondering if anyone knew how to make a cheap motor and what string twine rope etc with what breaking strain to use for lure coursing. I will be having to put the field up for rent soon and would like to hold a small friendly event befor i rent it out if it doesnt prove to be too costly
  5. Where abouts in the country is Boston mate? Not boston spa is it? I used to work up in boston spa. not there mate. some very nice land up that way but used to keep your feet warm lol.
  6. I ended up with my dog after a 15 year old lad had to spend 8 hours in a police sell in white overalls while they took dna etc. He lost the one thing he loved the most after his parents and kept him off of the street corners. He was happy out with his dog while his mates were stealing cars etc and he was the one who will end up with a criminal record. Its all shi+
  7. Glad about them not taking the dogs. The fine, losing a car etc would be bad enough but no one has the authority to put another man’s dog down. This has all got stupid now. I have come into the coursing game at the wrong time and although I have quite a bit of permission only a couple of farmers will allow me to take the dog on. It’s got like it’s a serious crime. Might be better off robbing the locals and mugging old people, causing criminal damage. The government has gone too far with all of this. You try telling my dog not to chase a hare when it pops up after he’s been after a rabb
  8. Hi mate sorry to hear about you getting court. If you don’t mind me asking what happened to the dogs? Heard stories of them been put down. I am local to Louth and noticed a police car going round the country lanes with a night eye thing on top. Wondered if it was an infra red camera like they have in the helicopter.
  9. Yorkshire dales. I used to love it up there and many a time we would get 100+ it used to be a long drive for us when I lived in Leeds and a lot of walking up and down the dales carrying rabbits. Had a call from an old friend near xmas who said he had been up there but they had a hard winter there last year and the numbers were down. I live in Lincolnshire now and am still exploring areas.
  10. Is wondering why he is sat here reading up about all you lads going lamping when I should be out myself

  11. where do you work then mate,?they arnt running from you they are runnig from fines cos all law is on keepers side, dont beleve your own bullshite mate?goto local pubs where these poachers drink if your so brave, no poacher is running from a fine on this ground I f*****g hate the plod and I don't need them to come and sort a poacher neither do I feel the need to shoot dogs or trash a blokes motor, I have taken my share of beatings in the past ,given a fair few too but fact is poachers run or hide they don't front up to the keeper unless they have numbers on their side. nice one keepe
  12. some nice dogs there pal atb popps Thanks Will put some more up later some very nice dogs there mate
  13. Hi i have been into ferreting, shooting, fishing since i was about 8 years old and have just got into the coursing side of things. I have been out on many a night when i was younger with some old coursing blokes but have only recently got my own lurcher and have to say it is addictive. I can line a rabbit up in the cross hairs any time but watching the dog give chase is far better.
  14. I wouldn't take him there for a while. farmers are within the law to shoot a dog chasing sheep if it is on there land. when i used to go out years ago some farmers had started to place cats eyes on the ground with a spike sticking out just in front of them and know of one bloke who lost a dog that way whilst out lamping. and they say were the bad ones
  15. Hi I am fairly new to owning my own lurcher although we have other dogs (staffy, gs and don’t laugh wife’s Chihuahuas lol. He is bull greyhound x collie greyhound. I am thinking about getting a bitch with the view to having a few litters in the future. What would be a good x to have and to breed with him? It’s just not right when I take my gs out with him and watching her tear across a field barking trying to keep up when he is in mid chase and want another coursing dog to take out with him
  16. Id like to think my dogs got brains but once he is chasing something he will run through fences, hedges, streams etc. I am new to owning my own coursing dog and any advice would be welcome. the dogs ok its me thats the daft one
