I bought a rabbit distress caller, its a small metal circle with a hole in the middle, you simply put your mouth over and blow. Works great! it works good for foxes aswell. I also use it for getting the rabbits out the holes, sit around 20 yards from the set and call it for around 20 seconds and they pop their heads out giving a clear headshot depending if there are any in there but if a rab has its head down not giving a clear shot a simple kissing like noise with your mouth works great like the posts above, hope this helps regards, Cal

Thanks for the reply, i also had an air pistol in the past but it doesnt work now and that took pigeons at around 15 yards from trees and dropped first time with a clean headshot, also i have seen rabbits and squirrels cleanly killed with these weapons Cal

Hi all, Need some help while shooting rabbits. I have my sights set at 35 yards and can drop rabbits perfectly at that range. However im having trouble shooting them close up (5-10 yards). When i aim straight at them they dont seem to drop should i aim above? below? Any help would be much appreciated Cheers Cal

Some great shooting there si! When your shooting the rats at close range, have u got the sights set at like 10 yards? The reason i ask this is have my sights set at 30 yards and if there is a rabbit at say 5-10 yards should I aim above or below with the holdover? Because when i shoot straight at the rabbit, they dont seem to drop An answer to this would be much apprciated Cheers Cal

Hi guys, Im wondering if i should or shouldnt go out hunting rabbits tomorrow because ive had a look around this site and people are saying that the rabbits wont come out through the day. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone goes ferreting or shooting around the County Durham area. I am 14 years old so it would be good if you where around my age that would let me come along with them. I have my own air rifle, Theoben Rapid 7 which i would bring along if need. I am a keen hunter so would come anytime. Cheers Calvin
