You still after a good strain of working border??

I have had several strains of lurchers including your bull x etc. but by far the best av had is deerhound greyhound collie greyhounds, my uncle has bred the strain for over 25 yrs and has always used them. You will of seen some of them on the strictly lumping and ferreting videos. What's your opinions on the what dogs you think are the best??

Seen a few posts on here about people saying pheasant keeping is an art etc and that grouse keeping is as simple as abit vermin controll, turning grit boxes over and stuff like that, well in my eyes its the other way round been a grouse keeper is an art!! Most pheasant shoots are just glorified chicken farms vermin controll isn't carried out properly all they are concerned about is getting the bag at the end of the the day. I have worked part time on 2 of the countrys biggest grouse moors and been to plenty more, grouse keeping isn't a job its a passion and a way of life! Your job is never don

An estate close to me were I used be a regular beater has just been taken over by a man I know, it is a large commercial pheasant shoot so I passed my number on to him regarding terrier work, the phone rang today and it was the keeper asking me to go up at the weekend and check a few earths. Hopefully this is the start of some good days digging. Happy digging Foxes were always seen on shoot days so I have high hopes!!

Depends what kind of keeper you want to be? If I was you ad aim to get on a grouse moor but take what you can get.

I have a working border terrier dog, levi oaks lines he's the real deal. Your average border is no good but get the right strain and you will have a good one!!

Permission wanted in the county duham area.. Rabbit control, fox control etc. Genuine lads who do the job properly. Inbox with any info much appreciated.

6-7 month introduce him him to rats etc.. Get a foxes tail and he will pick up on the scent of it.. Then it will go from there bud.
