  1. Well the pointer that I would be using I own and he has no problem dispatching foxes, he's quite a leggy pointer at about 26tts. I have the choice of the saluki grey bitch or I have my own greyhound bitch that is a around the same size and she is a very good all round dog. its just a thought that has crossed my mind, I wouldnt be doing it for money etc. I just think it would be a handy cross for some people.
  2. Different do Im about but it was some dog on the teeth
  3. I had one for a while ...county durham area what was dog called mate?
  4. Not to my knowledge. But a boy near me had a ridgeback greyhound and that was a dog and half on big stuff.
  5. I know a keeper who has a 3/4 grey 1/4 pointer and its a real good dog. So its worth a try
  6. I tnink the ideal cross would be a pointer grey bk to a greyhound. Thats my opinion anyway
  7. He's had 34 fox. He catches them in cover no problem. You would be surprised mate GWP are verh powerful and aggressive dogs when comes to mixing it up they can hold there own.
  8. A friend of a friend is wanting to put my pointer over his 3/4 greyhound 1/4 saluki. I can can vouch fo my pointer he has seen alot of graft from the grouse moor to taking fox. His stamina, determination and heart are second to none. He dispatches fox better than some bull x I have seen. Just after some advice of lads that are using pointer crosses and how they find them to work??
  9. Im just going to put the big dog over the greyhound, keep a bitch back and hopefully she will make the grade and whens shes proven herself if she does fingers crossed I will put her to a deerhound x greyhound.
  10. Them 2 dogs are what I like gaffer. Hope they graft as well as the look
  11. The big fawn rough dog is deerhound greyhound to a deerhound greyhound collie greyhound. The black dog was deerhound greyhound collie greyhound to a greyhound The fawn bitch was deerhound greyhound collie greyhound back to a deeŕhound greyhound collie greyhound. The breeding in the dogs go back 25 years at least.
  12. I have had 3 over the past 12yrs and I cant fault them, excellent all round dogs with good heart and determination. Its a cross I can't fault. Im in limbo wether or not to put my big rough dog over my greyhound.
  13. Whats peoples thoughts and opinions on this cross, lets see some pictures etc.
  14. I prefer good size dogs. He definitely has the balls. The bitch gets used every weekend when im out with the terriers shes a machine. I imagine the pups would turn out like my old dog I used to have. I have studed him out but all the bitches have been bull x and Im not keen on putting bull into the breeding. thats my old dog. He was a tool as well.
  15. He's 27tts he's done everything I have asked of him. He's been an excellent fox dog as well. The breeding in him goes back 25 year. My only concern about putting him to my greyhound is its only going to add sheer speed. A deerhound greyhound bitch would be ideal to put him to.
  16. I could be looking for a wheaton dog to put over my greyhound bitch. Im not 100% sure yet but its my second choice after my old dog. Have any of you lads got a wheaton doing the job?? This is the dog im thinking of putting over my bitch. He is a deerhound greyhound collie grey 8 yr old and done everything I have ever asked of him. His drive and determination is second to none .
  17. I have had a bit of bad luck this year as I lost 5000 acres due to a new keeper. I have permission up over the borders but its a hike every weekend. Im wondering if anyone in the Co . Durham area would be wanting a hand etc. The favour would be returned when I go up the road. Cheers Jossa
  18. My boys 1st full season, keeping him on his toes with the rabbits but he's mainly used for shot and retrieved quarry.
  19. My bull wheaton greyhound is doing well in his1st full season, I thought he was going to be a sluggish dog but he has proven me wrong. He has good speed, a good set of lungs and the most important thing A BIG HEART. I happy with what he has shown me up to now and the power in them jaws of his are a great help lol. Hopefully I will get another 7 or 8 seasons of sport out of him...
  20. Nar not much work, one of his last outings he worked his quarry over 100m in a storm drain never gave it and inch 6 hours later he bolted it. I have nothing to prove to anyone but I have a border bitch that is just as capable as this dog and the pups I bred from them are showing the same signs.
  21. Must of been dead yeah. This dog will stay when many more would come away heart of a lion!!
  22. I was at work all day yesterday finished at 2, I put my border dog in the van with a spade and went to check a few local spots. Nothing in the 1st but at the second spot something was home, collar on and dog in. I left him 10 mins to settle and got a mark of 1.7 it was pretty easy going so it didnt take long to get down. When I broke through the quarry was dead. It was a nice dog fox, not bad for a quick walk out after work and good to get my the dog a dig as he doesnt get used much now.
  23. My mate is after a beaded collie greyhound, dont suppose any of you lads know of any litters or expected litters from proven dogs?? Cheers jossa
  24. We drew a blank, was happy with my young lakeland dog though showing he can use his nose!!
  25. Im off to help the keeper out, normally get a couple of good days. I will let yous know. ATB lads
