  1. This type of simple wire trap has been used for a long time in France, nearly a hundred years, and were colloquially known as 'Aurouze' traps after the Paris manufacturers of that time. I have not used them, but I have handled many different versions over the years and find that the temper leaves the copper ones faster than the iron ones, and that they can be improved in use by the addition of a flat round washer with small cut outs at the edge in place of the wire square 'setter'. This can be attached by means of a small string or wire to the trap so it is not lost. Don't follow the photo
  2. People who don't pay up when they say they will ... thinking that they are out of reach ...
  3. You can make single entrance artificials into bolting earths with some forethought ...
  4. Judging by virtually every other thread on this forum it will be either Muslims, Travellers or Buzzards that are to blame mate
  5. M T - how do the Bethel Rhodes traps compare to say, Flat Pack? Are they different, cheaper, more durable?
  6. 7 foot net, double pegged for me. Single pegged the fox has to move to far to purse the net, and in cover that is not a good thing
  7. Karma is a hell of a leveller. TC In this case you are absolutely correct - but you will never know why, eh? Or is this something else you're going to poke your beak into that you know nothing about?
  8. I have emailed you If you cannot access that either which I find difficult to believe then email me at ratcatcher@mail.com so you can sort this out
  9. Empty your inbox and contact me - you know why
  10. Nice to see you back Gamerooster - can you PM me please as I believe we have some unfinished business?
  11. Really?? Yes and as a supposed excellent trapper who knows everything about traps, trapping and the general wildlife of this country I find it incredulous that you do not know how BOP work. I am not denying that Red Kites and buzzards will take young of any species that are indigenous to this country. But the fact is, a raptor will not hunt until it is hungry and once it has a meal it is incapable of hunting again until it's weight drops enough. (Ask any falconer) TC Once again, I bow to your supreme knowledge, first hand experiences including an accomplished understanding of eco
  12. I have seen them taking pheasant poults out of the air in front of the combine harvester ... carrion my arse
  13. Sealskinz are ideal for standing in a bowl of water at a Game Fair but not up to much otherwise. They are waterproof but not durable, socks and gloves alike. Ideal for folks who wear this sort of thing occasionally I suppose but if you want something to last the rigours of weather then a good pair of boots, well looked after, will always be your best bet IMO
  14. Gaffer Try closely matching the diameter of the shank to the horn or antler - the closer you can get the diameters the better it will look when completed - a seamless transition from hazel to antler gives the best finish ;-) OTC
  15. Sack of old traps???? Let me see ... As for these, I have no idea, they are not trap related I don't think. The could be some form of collar, or possibly a farm veterinary device perhaps?
  16. Nice to see Bob again, those gas pipe mole traps are just great
  17. I have also had no issues with the few things I have purchased, and found them to be durable and well made, particularly the tunnels and boxes, and especially the 'rail trap' for Fenns and their mink cages OTC
  18. Do you want a genuine mole trappers spade? PM me OTC
