  2. Same answer - they were inhumane yes, but they were very, very effective OTC
  3. If I could go back in time with them then it would be 4 inch gins every time for me - I would go and see them made, talk to the trap makers and bring the knowledge back with me OTC

  8. A goldcrest would make a good subject for the colour-splash B&W shots that Kay et al have been experimenting with - just that flash of gold on a sharp close up pic would be nice OTC
  9. I have to agree with you on that Kev - let's see some nice stoat pictures please OTC
  10. Nice and sharp JD - that first head on shot is nice OTC
  11. Interesting design Para - do they work better than the conventional ring and pin type or on a par? I can see how they would work though - good idea OTC
  12. I have it on and off Rew, down my left leg but most in my bum cheek, it isn't as bad as some people seem to get it though and it comes and goes. Gives me some grief at bedtime though OTC
  13. The 'Great Tunnel Debate' might be solved by someone contacting DEFRA for their view - they devise the HTAO after all . . . OTC
  14. I am also pretty fed up with the childish remarks from a certain few folks who seem to log in just to agravate others and have wrecked this forum over the past year So many good men (and women) have left, I am just glad to have made their acquaintance whilst they were here So long F T OTC
  15. Don't you lot worry about DS - he's absolutely fine and glad to be away from the bickering and backstabbing that this site is turning into OTC
  16. I'm in all night - a good meal and a good glass of port later will do me fine Happy New Year all OTC
  17. I have been thinking about this today and after all that thought have still not decided what I think about it all Tunnels to me have always meant purpose built things but I know that natural tunnels are also 'allowed' I have little or no experience with BG's, but have a fair bit of other trapping experience to call from and I personally wouldn't chance using a Fenn or Imbra in that kind of set. It does all come down to 'what is a tunnel' and what is the meaning of 'purpose' in the HTAO doesn't it? And that, I would think would be subject to the interpretation of the prosecuting
  18. It's a bit extravagant . . . But what a GREAT thing to have - if I had the money I would have it OTC
  19. That's all you need to do You are not obliged to contact the Environment Agency or any Otter group - they will just come and take it away from you OTC
  20. I pushed through some holly bushes today when I was out and about and ran into a strand right across the top of my head - too rusty to cut but it bloody hurt all the same OTC
  21. There's no easy way that I know except speed-dip I think John b (Mod) had some for sale on here a while back - he will read this presently and let you know I am sure OTC
  22. That looks a bit better - see what I mean about it bouncing back under tension? That will help a lot. Also make sure that your 'string' for the peg is attached to the double part of the loop on the tealer not the single side otherwise it could pull out. Bale twine is better for that and it's free OTC
  23. Judging by the few responses I have had (from different parts of the country) it doesn't seem to have a regional variation for soil types I thought maybe clay soils might need shorter ones than sand for example? So 9" - 12" would be the norm for a full size net?? OTC
