  1. L&G Just to let you know that there is a brand new 'Trapping and Snaring' book released today Find details on this link http://www.countrymanpestcontrol.co.uk/buy-the-books.htm I have ordered my own copy today so I haven't read it yet I just thought I would pass on the details OTC
  2. I agree it looks continental, there are a lot of similar traps made over a long period by many makers I have a friend who collects mouse and rat traps, he might be interested in it - is it for sale? OTC
  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hawken-Rifles-The-Mountain-Mans-Choice-John-D-Baird-The-Gun-Room-Press-1976-/200973934927?pt=Vintage_Hunting&hash=item2ecafae14f The US site not the UK one :-) OTC
  4. Joseph Collins made them both - and they look like the same trap to me, albeit with different amounts of weathering. The steel plates were galvanised prior to assembly giving the 'aluminium' type look, to aid rust prevention. Thanks for taking the effort to dig them out Stealthy, it is nice to see new traps. I still get excited about rusty iron no matter how many times I see them! OTC
  5. 3 inch jaw size vermin/rat traps Pete - made for Gilbertson and Page Ltd (GILPA) OTC
  6. I have been in Pete's 'man cave' and what you see is what you get, no frills but super all the same, does what he wants, when he wants - what could be better? OTC
  7. Mink aren't such a problem at this time of year once your poults are roosting safely away from the mass congregations in the release pen. I understand your concern though and they will think nothing of taking your birds daily as food. If you can - saturate the area you saw the mink with tunnels or cages - if there is a significant rabbit bury nearby it will be worth concentrating around that area If the river/waterway is within your boundary then trap that systematically too - always keep a trap or two going along the riverbank where it is easy to check as you go out to feed or whatever -
  8. It looks like you have been busy there - keep at them! OTC
  9. Yes please! OTC knew you would like that! how dose that gin look in your collection? you waited a few years for it mate Yes it looks great with my other rusty relics, worth waiting for! OTC

  18. A good precedent to set, I am pretty sure I would have done exactly the same if, God forbid, it had been me in that father's place, if not worse ...
