  1. It is a rabbit trap mate, a trial proto. I know where there's another like it but that's it. Made same era as the thre'penny bit OTC
  2. In a word .... ... ... no LOL OTC well dont leave us with THAT carrot dangling! tell more trap history is as good if not better than traps! You will have to wait and see ....
  3. You have to go to this place, it is like an amusement park for hunting and fishing. Quite simply the single best 'shop' I have ever been in Bass Pro Outdoor World, Rocky View near Alberta I spent a whole day in there with my family OTC
  4. It was the trial I am most interested in 2.8 - not so much the technicalities or design as such Once it is done would you mind telling me what was done and how, as opposed to the results? OTC
  5. Be careful they don't eat their way out of that Pat ... it is no accident that such traps are usually made from metal or wire OTC
  6. Before you dived headlong into the complex world of patents and secure devices I assume that you gave a full set of prototypes and experiments a comprehensive and robust trial period? How did they perform? Did one outshine the others in the tests, and equally did one or two designs fail to deliver as expected? Did you find that you have to make many modifications to the original designs in order to get them to work as they should? Did traps/mechanism from different manufacturers have much effect on the success of them - for example did different fittings or set-ups, loudness of call, or a part
  7. Maize is good especially if thrown over bare earth - the visual attractant is as good as the scent OTC
  8. There have been some interesting ideas passed on this thread (which makes a change) I wonder of the legality of checking traps with a camera or suchlike device as most statutes dictate that they must be checked within each 24 hours ... ? As for the call trap mentioned above by 2.8, again a good idea in principle but I do forsee a few shortfalls - Cost - is usually the main contributing factor it seems. If the cost is in excess of a simpler more readily available trapping device then I think that this will be enough to put most trappers (and their employers) off Portability - co
  9. Another I am better than you thread ... Is this the running dogs section? What is it lately on here - every post becomes a competition? Mine is bigger, faster, cheaper, more ethical etc etc I am getting fed up with reading about it OTC
  10. I had lepto in 2008, caught whilst kayaking in a Welsh canal - two of us got it at the same time. I went downhill rapidly and I had to remind my GP about it or he would not have tested for it until it was too late. Because my specific blood test was done early and they could get to work quickly with medicine I was lucky, and so was the other guy I worked with at the time. My GP had no idea about it though - he had to google it whilst I was sitting in the surgery so he could get his head around what I was telling him or they would have done tests and scratched their heads for ages before diagno
  11. Dust a handful of feathers in around the tunnel - they like the visual attractant. It is unusual for them not to go in if you have placed them properly Any log piles, old trees with exposed roots, rock heaps, stone walls etc around where they are? If so then get some traps in amongst those, they will spend hours exploring such places and will go in. Fresh rabbit liver is a good bait too OTC
  12. Don't set them 2 - 3 fingers high - read the articles I told you about. They will tell you how to do it properly and you will catch something OTC
  13. Have a read through the pinned Rabbit Snaring articles in the top of the trapping section - they should put you right. Snare the runs out in the field not near the holes OTC
  14. Those on eBay have been sold by a chap in Turkey who has sold dozens - I think they are made to look old but are nothing of the sort. Just MO
  15. Nope - I have an unhealthy obsession with traps too ... OTC
  16. You can fish on the racecourse there at the moment Socks, it is under about 4 feet of water. Same at the county cricket ground Take in the nearby Malvern Hills for a nice walk with a good view OTC
  17. If you do decide to cage trap them - these would seem a cheap offer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rabbit-cage-trap-/111248803392?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Plants_Weed_Pest_Control_CV&hash=item19e6f20640 OTC
  18. Woodga's DVD http://www.fourteenacre.co.uk/shop/professional-rabbit-snaring-by-woodga-dvd/
  19. It will seem like forever but it will be fine in the end! It might take another night, or another week, but they all go through it ...
  20. Which is the best download option - the home page is a bit confusing as to which I need? Can anyone advise? OTC
