    I too keep hybrid brown hens that I get off a bloke that suplies battey farms very quite and easy to keep I got 2 black rocks and found them very flitey and jumpy ( maybe I just got a bad pair ) they layed well tho

    I got some cheep growers , 11 birds was eating 20kg a week at the end , not worked out the cost per bird I just did it because it tastes good

    Thanks chicken man , the old cock I got is 7 year old and looks knackerd ( not a prity site ) but he has won some shows I will keep the best cock back from this year to replace him , I like Minorcas cheep to feed and big eggs for the size of the bird , but they only look at ther best for a year then look v old

    I had my geese on soaked growers pellets mixed corn , and milky mash potatoes , found it in an old garden farming book , they love the mash put loads of milk in ( my mate works at a dairy so it was free , and I just got a big bag ov spuds for a £5 ) I put them in a small pen to so they did not walk the weight off , hope this helps
