Giant puffballs can be kept if you freeze them in slices. They are best then fried or dropped into stews straight from the freezer. They might fall apart a bit but its better than wasting a a whole puff-ball you can't eat in one go. Also the taste of frozen mushrooms often becomes stronger so a little goes a long way.

If you have a wall-paper steamer you put the sticks inside a bit of drainpipe and poke the steam tube up a length of drainpipe. Block with towels to keep the steam in and allow about an hour fo every inch of thickness . I soften sticks to make wreath frames like this .

most of my life and it is tru so many people just don't think or care about controlling their dogs . They just see a field to let it run and hunt in and dont really understand the country code or the unseen damage and disturbance that a dog even e few yards off a track can do . I once met two people who let there dogs off to chase deer for exercise. They said "its ok because the dogs are too slow to catch one" and these people did'nt agree with hunting and were always moaning to the estate about the shoot . I have a collie/greyhound bitch that had been dumped to a back-yard type of rescue centre .They let me have her on a trial period before she was handed to the bigger organisation and I ended up keeping her . I think she would have been harder to train if she had gone to a big kennel as she would have been traumatised of being kenneled in a noisy environment . Hi all. I've always been involved in the countryside and know a little about gundogs and have always loved lurchers . I have a rescue collie greyhound bitch at the moment .She is very much a pet but does get me the odd Sunday lunch .
