Its mad all this info with dogs but yet many push kids into sport and very active lifestyle from young with no frown. All the sport academies who lets face it pay for millions in research on this field seem to thing early conditioning reduces injuries. is it Weird all the best sports men start from a young age. Something about conditioning the cns to the sport they focusing on. I always wondered what effect this has on dogs. Growing bones are growing bones reqarldess if human/dog/monkey. I always cautious but its an Interesting topic.

Do you have your lamp on for 2 1/2 without switching it off ??? That run time is constant use i.e switch it on and dont turn it off for 2.5 hrs . By rights prob should get 4 plus hrs easily with itI'm always out 6 hours mate and not flattened it yet. that good going then. Would you say distance wise it like the loght force lance ?? As that only a 400m beam and great for the bunnies

that's spot on mate, with this fookin looking at you every couple of yards. walk a couple look, walk couple look. walk couple look etc , ive always thought this trait in a dog is not normal . ive met loads of people with dogs all kinds of breeds and not feckin (one) does it, Bryn my 1x collie x grey he does it, and so does my 1x gsd x grey , not as bad but does look out for you quite a lot. I not talking about strange ground etc just normal dog walk big open field (common ground) where lots of dogs go, but Bryn does it as above its been a long hard 8 years for me living with a dog wh

Collie Bull Grey V Saluki Bull Grey
paulsmithy83 replied to dogmad riley's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Chid funny enough i was just about to edit my post and say that haha -
That last bit trigger do you maybe think they tired or being clever keeping stores in the reserve knowing what the night might be like and know it might be expected tomorrow night also or combo of both ??? If get what i mean
-
I wont own a dog without saluki in its breeding somewhere but only from Coursing blood as has much more to offer then just hare coursing. Pest controllers would prefere collie x as most are ferreters its the most effitient way of clearing land. The collie x generally will be happy to stare at some nets for 30-60 mins at a time and have no problem. They get excited working out what hole its going to bolt from. Its all mind games they love. Plus a collie nature they thrive on commands. I hate pure collies looking back every few seconds in the hope for another command. I prefer more free thinking

Bitches def more needy and touchy but doesnt bother me and dogs more independent but working i dont think it matters.

Collie Bull Grey V Saluki Bull Grey
paulsmithy83 replied to dogmad riley's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Both are well tried crosses and both work very well but its all about if each one throws the right ingredients. I am a saluki/bull/grey man through and through. If your lucky enough to get the grit of the bull with the staying power of the saluki that one lethal dog on ALL edible and teeth. Well thats what you hope for shame it doesnt always work like that -
Mine always on slip at night. Mine will only follow on rarely but like i said when she does she made some good catches off beam. As hes a pup id curb any scenting at night for now. Let him learn the real reason your out at night to work the light with his eyes. Then when hes experienced take it from there
-
I personally wouldn't own either but that own preference. But if had gun to my head then it would be the whip grey
-
I've had some great catches off the lamp there a fine balance from an experienced dog knowing when it's right to follow scent at night or to return as usually expected. 99% time they come back after it gone but that 1% I don't make a big effort to get them back as 9/10 she would pull something in the dark that she thought was worth following for. Fine line tho

Did you put jai whippet over her ?

Small slow steps at ten weeks plenty of time. I wouldnt over do training. Get them to do something once loads of reward and leave it there. Let it build up over time. They suit this type of training over the persistant drown of commands off owner as your just get anouying to the pup. In time you will have a biddable animal.

What Would You Do With A Spare One Thousand Pounds
paulsmithy83 replied to CushtyJook's topic in General Talk
Keep doing what im doing , buying and selling things. Motors, trailers, horses have a hand in everything. At the min its selling purfum , top , jeans , kids clothes and toys all ready for christmas . But come on guys its only a grand. My 3 yr old daughter has more then that in savings lol -
Completly agree bird but hes just got that dog and knowing saluki's quite well they dont like change and a bond has to be established before anything else happens you know that. You dont get a dog and disrupt everything it knows. Take it out that night and expect it to perform and lets face it not at 10 months old fresh as a daisey. Dont you think hes rushing it abit. Could be wrong but i bet in a experienced home that dog would bust a gut to catch when its mentally matured
-
Salukis are prity good judges of character maybe she just dont like you. If they have no respect for you they wont do nowt for you. Respect has to be earnt in time. Its not something you can demand.
-
I live in the most flattest area imaginable my local walks consist of a view of just the hedge at the end of the field lol
-
i wish i could say different but 9 times out 10 this is the case. Dont know where the respect has gone in the game.

I'd love someone narrow minded like you to walk on site. Keep offending. Your doing well
