  1. I've got the full set bar about 6 copies, PM me with any sensible offers for the job lot.
  2. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EARTH-DOG-RUNNING-DO...1QQcmdZViewItem 2 mags - June and July 1994 - 41 quid so far I can see all mine getting sold if this is the norm.
  3. Whilst this topic is going, what does anyone use as a supplement, I feed raw and used to use SA37, but I don't anymore, my dogs look fine without, but a well known greyhound breeder/trainer close to me uses a supplement designed for horses called Clomp and swears by it, he says a tub the size of a bucket costs about the same as a tub of SA37 the size of a beans tin. Also how many of todays running dog men know anything about the old wives tale of dogs that were poor strikers needing the clomp in the roof of their mouth nipping off to relieve pressure on the nerve end, an old blacksmith in
  4. I know where there's a litter of Russel pups ready now, broken coated, their in West Yorkshire if that's any good PM me and I'll give you his phone number.
  5. Cheers for that big fella, mine does get some hammer, but obviously I'll bear that in mind cos there's no doubt yours will, but it's hard trying to change the way you're reared, I clean all my tackle always, trowels n'everything. "Look after your tackle and your tackle will look after you" that's the way I was brought up and I guess that's how I'll always be.
  6. Same reason I clean anything really, I try to look after my tackle, and when the gun's had a bit of hammer it gets shitten up, am I doing something wrong?
  7. Cheers mate, that's an easy one to try.
  8. Looking for a Mk1 8 foot ferret collar for my lad if anyone has one to sell.
  9. I'm having no end of trouble getting a soft bronze brush to clean my .410 Hushpower, they all seem to be very stiff, no problem getting a soft one for my 12g I can't even get a nylon brush for the .410, I'm currently using patches and solvent as any stiff brush gets stuck due to the gun being full choke, even the rod without an attachment on the end won't pass through. I was wondering if anyone had used these Boresnakes on a fully choked .410 with any success.
  10. Stay at home and exercise the dogs because it's SHITE
  11. When I say they're not accurate, I mean they are not accurate, the depth guide gives you a rough idea, there are numerous parameters that affect the quality of the reading, battery condition, varying substrates etc. etc. I've used the MK1 Deben since it came out and know that just because the reading says 5 foot or whatever, it doesn't necessarily mean it will be exactly 5 foot. And when the numbers wear off as they inevitably do IF you get out enough and use them regularly, tippex works fine, get a Bellman & Flint and you won't have that trouble anyway. And don't tell me how to value my f
  12. Course they do, you won't get accurate readings because of the calibration marks on the dials, but you can do it yourself with Tippex. They're not exactly spot on accurate anyway are they.
  13. Thanks for all the replies, all now gone. Wilky
  14. I'm having a bit of a clear out and I've got a few bits of tackle to get rid of, surplus to requirements. 1 x 14lb sledgehammer 1 x 10lb sledgehammer 1 x Large rubber paving maul 2 x Pick axe heads 1 x Roundmouth shovel All in good order and free to the first person that wants them, I'm in West Yorkshire and as they're free, no I won't bloody deliver, but I could possibly meet near to motorway J26 M62. I don't really want to split them either, I would prefer them gone together, I'll leave it a couple of days and then skip them.
  15. Thanks for the compliments lads. Tarmac - No I'm not a joiner, but I have served my time in the building game, but not anymore, I've got a cushy number. Danny Macca - An afternoon, then an hour to rub down and laquer. paddybarr - If you're near enough I would consider knocking one up for you, this one stands me at £30 all in.
  16. I don't know if these would be any good to snare makers for tying off wires or for long net men for drop cord weights, but I've got a bag of lead weights that are pre-holed. If there of any use to anyone PM me. I already know that unscrupulous fuckers can use them for re-sealing their lecky meters when they've fiddled them, but that's not what I got em for, honest, you only need two for that anyway and there's bloody hundreds.
  17. Got a bit of time to spare now so knocked up a new box that'll take a 25" Beddy/Grey and a terrier. Made the door a double door so I can just whip the terrier out on it's own. I even stuck a drawer in it for the discreet storage of a few things. The pictures don't do it justice, but it suits me if I'm only taking one terrier and Stevies lurcher.
  18. Chilli I've found they're all much of a muchness, about £95 for a Brattonsound 3 gun cabinet.
  19. Just changed mine to Van Morrisons - Brown Eyed Girl
  20. Too fcuking true....so many people breed from terriers that they think are the danglies, when in reality the dogs are no more than culls themselves, walking into a pipe and killing a fox 3 times a year dont make a worker, going to ground getting smashed and walking off the the job after an hour dont make a worker, bayers 5-6 foot off the game dont make a worker...the list is endless, its a pity some folk dont look long and hard at what they have before they breed....JMHO...........Carreg Couldn't agree with you more Carreg, true workers are true workers, but I also believe people sho
  21. [bANNED TEXT] about the the running dog named FETTLE i think was its name that was bred out of a non worker and she turned out to be an exelent dog so in my opinion it doesnt matter about the parents. 1) The lad was talking about terriers. 2) There are always going to be tales of wonder dogs from dodgy parents or re-homing centres, but how many of them REALLY hold water and who in their right minds would take that gamble anyway. 3) It's opinions like yours that are spewing out show shite by the bucketful and raking in big money into the bargain. The only pedigree worth talking
  22. You're probably going to get pages of very genuine replies which will be very lengthy and very informative from very genuine lads, but the top and bottom of it is :- BREEDING FROM SHITE IS EXPECTING SHITE BREEDING FROM THE BEST IS NO GUARANTEE THAT YOU'LL GET THE BEST, BUT IF REARED AND ENTERED PROPERLY THE ODDS ARE IN YOUR FAVOUR AND IT'S DEFINATELY THE ONLY WAY. DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THE OPTIONS.
  23. Just back from the Selby game fair and for anyone who went last year, you'll be pleased to know, you don't need your wellies. Apart from the ground being better, it wasn't over good, Glyn Jones had his stall though, so a good old natter about terriers with a good bloke was worth the trip.
