  1. I have a Greys XF2 10ft #7 fly rod for sale. It's the new model and is 8 months old in superb condition. Comes with rod tube. Looking around £130-£140. PM me if you are interested. Sorry mods i put this in the fishing section as i couldn't find a fishing section in the ads for sale.
  2. Thanks Margaret, as always it's a great help for us to see whats coming up. Definitely beats scanning through the ads for free, buy and sell magazines and the countrymans weekly to see whats up and coming.
  3. Not into it myself, sort of disgusts me, whether it's legal or not. Yet at the same time i'm thinking............ Has anyone caught a bunny and released it into a different area to give a young pup a bit of confidence?
  4. Was out spinning last week for trout and a mate gave me a go with his 7ft Shimano Speedmaster BX. In my opinion its the nicest spinning rods i used. Just had to have one . Thinking of getting it in the 8ft also. Anyone used it in the 8ft and if so what are your views.
  5. here's what happens when you go to garden centres after too many shandys

  7. In the reservoirs that i use i fish solely for trout either rainbows or brownies, spinning, fly and the odd time with worms. I mainly fish reservoirs that are maintained by the government. The way it works over here is once a lake has been stocked literally within hours the word is out and it's like bangor promenade on a summers sunday afternoon. As the saying goes the fisheries put them in and the fishermen take them out. For me stocky bashing was great fun when i first started fishing as it gives you a confidence boost but there's nothing like the buzz when you've landed a well conditioned w
  8. Some the local reservoirs i fish were stocked over the last few days. Hope to get out and land a few. Whats your views on stocky bashing?

  16. I use a 7ft Wilderness XT with a Shimano Aernos 2500 for spinning for trout on my local reservoirs and an 8ft Wilderness XT with a Shimano Aernos 4000 if i'm going spinning for salmon but i have a few mates who just use a decent 8ft rod for both reservoirs and rivers whether spinning or bait fishing.
  17. Does anyone keep their Vasect. hob and jills together in the same cage all through the breeding season?
  18. Off work this week so i went for a few hours this afternoon to a different reservoir which usually holds good fighting wintered trout. The weather was freezing with the odd snow shower during the couple hours i was out. It was soo cold that the eyes on the rod starting freezing over and i had to continually break off the ice. Still managed to land a couple of nice fish........and no stockies this time . The trout in the 1st pic was just over 2lb. ATB Daz
  19. Rainbow trout season on some of the reservoirs is 1st February and 1st March for Brown trout over here.
  20. Yes stockies which were put in 3-4 weeks ago. I reckon the one in the 1st pic was around the 3lb and the other approx 2.5lb. you can tell with there tails all chewed up much a fight of them ? Put up a decent enough fight but i caught one which was around the 1lb and it gave a better account of itself. Hopefully the ones put back in will be given time for their tails to come fully back. Not sure if the tails are chewed up or more to do with wear and tear due to being reared in a small tank/container. Last week it was rainbows on the same reservoir and it was nice to get a few brownies as th
