Congratulations to all the owners and to the dogs that have qualified for the Master McGrath final. There definitely seems to be a lot more dogs that have qualified this year than in the previous two years. Also it's great to see a few of the traditional bred lurchers mixing it up with the elite dogs and being represented in the final. All the very best to all the owners/slippers and dogs for the final and hope all the dogs come off sound and healthy. As Sir Alex Ferguson would say it's "squeaky bum time" for you all as you give your dogs their final gallops, runs on the lure, and lots of rubs

Well done Dazzam - with being a line judge and now an event organiser you are in danger of becoming part of the establishment - instead of how we first met - by you slagging me off in a post that got some 2,000 views! Seriously thanks for coming forward to bring back a fun event for the fair. Albertj Albert that post got 5861 views!!!!! that's a hell of a lot of advertising....and all I got was two measly tickets for the game fair ... and I had to work for them . Even in these times of economic recession i'm going to have to up my rates. -
Another superb topic with loads of info and pics but if you're like me and hasn't knitted before it's as clear as mud. Going to have to give it a go though as a couple of holes have appeared in one of my longnets. Thanks folks

Guys, I understand what you are all saying but it's a small price to pay to see a youngster taking up the sport. He's only about 12/13 and Friday was his first time ever out ferreting and he took to it very well. No inhibitions whatsoever with the ferrets or culling the rabbits, or should I say trying to cull them so i'll do what I can to encourage him.

Yep, to be honest i'm fed up already. On a plus note the owner of the land I was on contacted me earlier to see if could get him two young jills for his young son who tagged along with me yesterday. So it sounds like his son had a great time yesterday and wants to take up ferreting. It's always great to see the youngsters taking a keen interest.

Texted one of my permissions today to see if it was ok to go for a wee nosey on his land this afternoon to see how the rabbit population was getting on. His text back was only if I caught no less than 20 rabbits and that his son tagged along. It would have been too rude to have refused . Collared a couple of last years youngsters and an older experienced jill, grabbed the two 50yd quicksets and away I went. When I landed his son met me all kitted out and complete with a quad.....handy piece of kit . The first set we done was a 20 holer and we just surrounded it with the quicksets and in went

What sort of year has it been for people so far. We keep four pairs of fifes each year. They are all sitting on their 2nd round at the minute. The first round produced 17 young . Just hoping the 2nd round is as productive as the 1st. It's been the best season for us so far as on occasions we didn't even rear 17 the whole season. We haven't changed or done anything different this year so can't put our finger on why it's been so good this year thus far.

Me a tight ass!!!!!!!!!!!! Whats wrong with you all???????? You all need to go and have a good look in the mirror.......look how many of you have been members on this forum for ages and you wouldn't even donate as little as £5 per year to keep it up and running, £5 well spent in my opinion. Go and hang your heads in shame the lot of you. See you all on Sunday -
