I kno someone who mixed up their puppy and adult wormers.. Killed the pup.. Be careful in doses.. When is it eating its turds? Mine used to eat em when left in the house to try and hide em I guess before gettin a bollockin.. If it's when your not around could be the same.. If its when your there ya need be quicker wi that pooper scooper.. If the dogs kennelled all above is irrelevent...

Haha it's what pups do.. They grow out of it..

Both look in good condition mate, I'd be happy with em.. If their doin the job and look like that happy days.. There both fed the same type/amount of food given the same exercise/runs then one sh*ts more than the other bit like me n the mrs, that's how I'm so trim and she's .. Haha

If your not running him and hes there only there to get used to the ferrets, surroundings, smells, rabbits hitting the nets etc why not? Will prob cry when pegged down maybe better to let ya mate do the ferreting and you tag along wi ya pup.. I wouldn't make a habit of taking him ferreting too often he's only a pup and wants to play and sleep, not be tied up next to you ferreting all the time he'll be bored, restless and grow up thinking his job is to sit there.. Put some time into him as a pup and enjoy him.. Never too young to play with a skin on a string hours of entertainment for any pup..

Well my dogs go where i go.. I'm out bushing tomorrow and my 16week old terrier will be coming with me, for him it's just a walk/exercise but he'll be watching and learning and in another 2,3,4 months when he's ready he'll join in.. I'm in no rush to push my dogs and ruin em, the grew was never run till 11month only ever watched.. Wait till you think the dog has the SPEED AND MATURITY then put him on the lamp for easy catches, run him too soon and the dog might yap when chasing, this is through frustration and think fk it their all too fast and learn to just chase! Wait till he's got the speed

If the window wernt open then they'd prosecute for animal neglect! Glad your dog had em mate but consider the police might have the scummy c*nts DNA on record.. Atb

I wouldnt be leaving it sat in a kennel on a days ferreting..! Taking it with you is helping it socialize with people, dogs, surroundings, smells, and the ferrets! Watching and learning is key, a great step for a young pup.. At such a young age he can't do anything and most likely will be a hindrance even annoying unless your out with others, as he will be your main focus and won't appreciate being tied up on the side lines!

WhippetxBedlington or BedlingtonxWhippet
*ferrifleboy replied to Just Fun's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Interesting post.. Interested to see more replies, mine was whippet sire and greyhound dam for obvious size reasons and turned out like a whippet, to make it more obvious which way would a bull x be sired? With whip/bedlington I think the sire would be the bedlington as the whippet is the larger of the 2.. -
I looked at a litter like this when picking my last dog, head ruled my heart and I walked away after a 3hour round trip to literally the middle of nowhere, the fella told me he didnt handle them as he didnt want to get attached before they left.. Had I of brought one home I think the massive point is to need patience and alot of it! Instead of simply feeding him in a bowl at meal times make him come to you for tit bits with a soft gentle voice and no fast movements, as he grows confidence in eating reward him with more food giving a quiet but excitable voice tone till all of his meal has been

When you put it like that sounds like it could make a handy little dog.. All the best with it.. Be interested to see a pic..

For most farmers I think they prefer the harmless ferrets and nets we got alot of permission that way as soon as you mention the dogs it's no no no.. Best to call places where you can see the damage being caused, such as farms with crop fields next to (securely fenced) railways etc we still get dirty looks and moaned at by dog walkers on our way back from a day ferreting some permission.. Ya just can't win haha
-
We've been told by poachers to get off land that we have permission for, one that my mate who was with me actually owns!! For some folk permission means nothing!!!!! Jokers!

I've got one the girlfriend paid £250 for plus £20 for string only ever been used once and sat in shed I'd take a sensible offer for it! Where are you from I'm in Wigan.. If you google draghare that's the one, comes with string battery skin ready to use.

I was out with her once and spotted a dear cross our path further down the field so put her on the lead and carried on.. When we got to where the deer had been the dog could smell it and was on her back legs pulling to go in the direction it had gone.. She'd never seen one to be fair as she's used only for rabbits. Always wondered what her reaction would be if she ever saw anything bigger and if she'd consider it as game..
-
My first is whipxgrey I went for speed on the rabbits which she's really good at.. Would never try her to anything bigger.. This is a great cross if you've smooth ground to run on as there very prone to injury so may not be for you..
