  1. The demon drink stopped me getting outta bed early and heading off so just went for quick mooch locally for couple of hrs, wasn't in form for a long day but dogs got a good run. Flushed some feather game and got one mark and small rat.
  2. Me Mas lamb stew.....ya can feel the goodness flowing into ya as you eat it. Can't take much credit only I supplied the lamb neck and shoulder, bought of a local organic farmer, who lets me hunt his land and gives my young a days work now and then, so I but half a lamb butcherd and boxed every yr....the meat is amazing.
  3. No videos. But had one of Floyds pups out with us today for her first mooch. Done very well, nose down all day, went into cover, followed scent, and threw the tongue on a very fresh big ears line. Over all very happy and the icing on cake is the nephew(his pup) seems to be getting the hunting bug, he was buzzing seeing his pup starting to work, we all know that feeling! and if he goes hunting my young lad will wanna start back going again... So good day.
  4. Earned... Been busy last few days..... working well.....rest up, back out Monday!
  5. Good to see bunnies making a comeback. Had some good hunts last few outings on land that was wiped out with plague. Last time I was on this land I got bout 4 diseased rabbits, caught easy. Not back in big numbers but they're healthy. Good to see.
  6. Got out for quick hr this evening, went down to a spot I walk em regularly. Used to be plenty of bunnies on it but disease wiped em by last March. Started to see some fresh signs recently there was one or two back on it. Lurcher Cú marked one in a small briar,Floyd flushed him and got good hunt at him through big briars and bolted twice more. Lovely work out of him.
  7. That short video of a rat mark was only bit of action we had all day. Out all day, put the miles in, tried cover after cover, ditch after ditch, wood after wood.......dogs never even threw the tongue once.....can't blame the dogs cos they'll hunt scent when it's there and they'll find hunts when there's scent about but today was nothing... Floyd did make one mark and we got two of the four rats in the burrow....
  8. Perfect after a long day mooching with dogs through the fields!
  9. We're pals and been hunting with him over 30yrs. He's sound, lives for his dogs and hunting. My terrier sired his last litter across his beagle. Most hunting lads from that neck of woods would know me.
  10. Na. Rabbits been wiped out in certain spots around me. Been lamping since mid 90s I can find rabbits with any color beam, if they're there.
  11. Had good 6 hrs out today with my mate and his couple of beagles. Flushed fox and rabbits. Got some good hunts. Got nice view of a fox as he came right outta the cover to me.
  12. Took dogs and new lamp out for a test run. Not a rabbit to be seen but very impressed with this lil beauty. Clu-Briter club sp. Very handy lil lamp. Compact, light and handy.
  13. I got him for working with hounds but he was made for rats and bushing and never showed any inclination to go to ground and tbh that suits me now.
  14. Oh most definitely. Best lil dog I ever had. Tbh I don't wanna be digging anymore, I'm happy out mooching and digging rats
  15. Venison loin chops(shot by a mate), eggs and cheddar. Beautiful little cuts of meat.
  16. Not a working terrier in the true sense, he doesn't work below ground, but an excellent busher and does mark and dig out rats, hunts rivers and streams well.
  17. Looking forward to seeing em in fields.
  18. I didn't but the fella with bitch kept 2 and 2 of me nephews kept one each as pets/occasional moochers so I'll be out with em over the season, they're ready to start now.
