  1. Bluestreak Lanfranco at Sufeina is/was a stud dog that belonged to Buzz Faber; I'm fairly sure he coursed under rules, but I don't know how successful he was. He has been used quite a bit by a Mrs Ely in Worcs who bred both my dogs and Go with the Flow from her original Laguna-bred foundation bitches. I think Frankie might finally have retired now, although he was siring litters at 12+. Trenthyde Florence runs occasionally at the BSFA and other drag coursing events. I don't know how well more recent Bluestreak whippets would do in the sporting field, although I believe Cathie has used Ch.
  2. Isn't part of the problem that it's difficult to assess working abilities objectively? If a whippet participates in racing, coursing or lure coursing then there are ways of assessing speed, enthusiasm, agility and stamina etc in a reasonable objective way, but whether a dog 'good worker' is always going to be based on the opinion of a smaller number of observers, hence subjective in comparison? As larger dogs seem have been selected from, historically they would have been too heavy/tall to race or course under rules anyway. Personally I'd like to see a bit more racing blood in introduce
  3. Just to put things straight, I had intended to course him, but he finished up at just over 20" and we didn't have the time to spare. We ran at the Ped club at South Oxford, he did quite well at bend racing but not straight, so we've only done lurecoursing since then, with 1 BIF and 2x res. BIFs against much younger dogs at BSFA in 2005. He's done consistently very well at this, against dogs that have previously won stakes with the WCC.
