  1. shes looking well mate nice one
  2. i cant see the difference between a day time coursing dog and a night time one both required to course quarry and either kill it and bring it back or miss it and return to heel a pup could have success on its first outing on the lamp the only thing that will improve with experiance is the dogs timing which only the dog can learn it cant be taught a ferreting dog takes a lot more training more than i am capable of were i am more than capable of the other two as its only the basics you need the rest is up to the dog so requires little human in put the rest is instinct but i think its sad
  3. another good post lads keep them coming
  4. a good lamper will blind the quarry and not the dog so the only thing the quarry has is its ears left to judge how close the dog is to try and out turn it thats why you catch more at night than day time thats my opinion
  5. like the pics hope your pup turns out well for you bud
  6. this is one of the best i have seen first cross whippetxgreyhound had up to three roe in the lamp in one night hes a fast dog that doesnt mess about when he comes to terms with them drops them straight a way seen a lot of dogs that mess about and only take a hold once they hit a fence pre ban

  11. Below is a brindle dog whippet Luke, off Barnesmore/sooty Sam lines aswell, bred at Minrock Kennels, Ireland. hes the spit of one that i bred they seem to be a bit longer in the back than the sooty sam dogs i prefer a dog with a bit of lenghth to it for old long ears
  12. it is easier to train one than two but i havent had that many problems except when they try to kill one another but hopefully this should stop as they mature as it useually stems from play fights but apart from that there very bidable
