  1. The test is done via a mouth swab and will give you a list of breeds whose genes come up in your dogs DNA, don't think it goes into any further specifics tho
  2. He's a handsome fella thats for sure and looks a good sort. ATB with him and well done
  3. or is that how they that big i bet that white coat on the poodle dose,nt allways stop that colour Actually you'd be very surprised at how little he gets dirty. The poodle coat is harsh and wiry and though he does love to get dirty & muddy i just leave him to dry, quick brush and the mud drops out of his coat very easily. I rarely wash him at all unless he's stinky (rolled in something nasty).
  4. I've still not had any reply
  5. LOL i haven't got a rabbit skin for my pup yet so i use the poodle as the prey, them ears come in handy for the grew to hang onto
  6. Took my 4 month old grew out for a run around with my standard poodle and remembered to take the camera. Here's a few pics of them larking about and having fun. The grew is 20tts @ 4 months old The St poodle is 27tts @ 10 months old Roll on next season!!!!!!
  7. Good to hear you've had a good season guys. Myself, i can't wait for next season as it'll be my first ever. 9. Give the dog a chance, if it dont work out find the dog a good pet home where he is part of the family instead of rotting in a kennel

  12. I've loved reading through this thread. Must admit when i looked at getting a rabbit dog it was partly through need as well as loving to work dogs for what they were bred for. I will be waiting til next season to start my pup off but fully intend to make the best possible use of whatever she catches, the way things are going right now we will actually need what the dog provides. This country just gets worse every year/government for screwing it's citizens
  13. I also think it's a blckage. My 13 year old staffy did the same last year, he ate a carrier bag but we didn't find out til it was too late. He couldn't eat or drink and the vet gave us AB's for him which did nothing, they then X-rayed him but nothing showed up, still getting sicker so they booked him for an ultrasound on the Monday but Sunday he passed a little bit of carrier bag then died
  14. If you ordered and paid online then the onus isn't on you if it didn't arrive mate. The seller should put in a claim through the postal service or whatever company he sent it by. You however, should still be given the item you paid for or a full refund, not your fault it got lost in the post
  15. I'm new to this so am talking from my dog experience rather than running dog experience (which i lack). First off the dog still sounds very puppy like in his actions and may also just be the joy of getting out again after a long break. I wouldn't think about trying to work him til i had worked on some training and building a good bond with the dog and get him fit at the same time. Once you have a bond and the dog looks to you for commands and what you want him to do then try him again and you should get better results if the dog is as keen as you say then he will still be wanting to do it
  16. Strat off teaching her to retrieve at home where there's much less distraction and a more enclosed place like a room or garden. Never go towards her when she's got the retrieve as she'll think it's a game of chase, better let her come to you or even move away from her and call her to you. How old/what type the pup?
  17. One good tie mating is plenty mate, if the dog had lost interest when you tried a second time then the bitch had "gone off" which is she most likely took 1st mating and her season ended pretty quick. I only ever mate my bitches once unless the dog is very close by or the first time i go i got the wrong time and they didn't mate. forgot to say a vet can often tell by feel during the 4th week if they are pregnant. Best option is to have an ultrasound done anytime after 3 weeks post mating, scans often reveal how many pups as well, scan costs about 30 quid
  18. I got Gym crash mats, it's amazing how much foam comes out of them when the dog gets it's teeth into it I use vetbed now and change/wash it in the machine every other day, stuff i have is 2 years old and still going strong
  19. Thanks guys, i think so too
  20. It's more common than you think. If you want to stop her add a little pineapple juice to her food as dogs wont eat stools containing it, the juice reacts in the intestines and apparently tastes foul once out the other end so makes them less appealing.
  21. Took my 4 month old grew out for a walk and got a few pics with my phone, little begger never keeps still and is usually under my feet so hard to get pics of but here's what i got today
