  1. Got my first dog this year, next season will be our first I've always had a passion for dogs and always admired a fast/athletic dog thats built for speed in full flight. I lost my Dad in November soon after 2 other family members and it just made me realise life is short and there may not be a tomorrow so live life for today and do what makes you happy I'm only interested in rabbits so the ban doesn't bother me, i just want the adrenilin rush and thrill of the chase.
  2. Easiest way is to get yourself a photobucket account, upload your pics to there and then copy the botto code next to the picture you want to show us and paste the code into your post
  3. Cracking dogs and fab pics, i really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing
  4. I give puppy jabs and the first booster 12 months later, after that... nothing. My dogs get to mix with lots of other dogs and have visited rescue centres with un-vacc dogs, never had any problems what-so-ever. 10 years ago i took in a rescue pup which quickly developed Parvo, it had been in my house and played with my dogs for 9 days when it died but not one of my dogs got sick. My eldest lived to 16. There's so much evidence of auto immune diseases & cancers occuring in over-vaccinated dogs, together with evidence of long term immunity from the starter jabs that i stopped boost
  5. Midlanders will let you lot fight it out and then sneak in and get the rewards whilst your still arguing over who won
  6. Kennel cough vaccine isn't a jab it's a liquid they squirt up the dogs nose and it's a total waste of money! It's like the flu jabs they give out or the common cold, it varies and mutates from one person (dog) to another and the vaccine is only preventative of one or two strains so the dog can still get a mutated version. My mom put her dog into kennels for a week, he had to have the kennel cough vacc before going in and he still came home with it and had to be given cough medicine to clear it up so imo save your money fella
  7. As long as he's 100% sure he never wants to breed from the dog then have the op. It doesn't alter the dogs working abilities at all but as someone said they do need to rest afterwards and then be brought back to fitness again (takes less time with younger dogs). If you're finished for the season then now is an ideal time to get it done
  8. It's more common in summer as more people go on holiday and put dogs in kennels but it occurs all year round. My lot got it in January last year, took one of the dogs to a show and some numpty bought thier rotty with kennel cough into the hall. They only stayed 5 minutes before being asked to leave, i never went near with my dog but a week later she had it and it went through all my dogs one after another. 5 weeks before we had a quiet house Reminds me of a kid with whooping cough, it's a similar sound.
  9. Honey/lemon & glycerin mixture you can get from poundland. Nothing will cure kennel cough but a little H/L/G will help ease the racking cough, 5ml teaspoon twice a day will help
  10. Any news yet mate? Am hoping it's good and she'll make a complete recovery for you. ATB
  11. I used Landywoods for about 6 months. The first few deliveries were good but then i was getting half defrosted meat and slimy grey chicken. I threw pounds of meat away but even what i thought was OK, my dogs turned thier noses up at it and preferred to go hungry so i changed to a local supplier.
  12. My poodles are very offended by your remark and would like an apology
  13. If it's mange the dog will have a distinctive smell like mice/vermin. Also it will be very itchy. Try scratching his back and see if he starts riffing himself. The treatments suggested should cover most problems, if you have recently changed the dogs food it could be an allergy to that. Best of luck sorting it
  14. Dont know much about racing but why can't they just seperate by size or weight and allow any dog to enter. If it's fast and wins who cares how it's bred
  15. Doesn't look like he exposed the quick or broke it at the nail bed (from the pics what i can see). Just keep it clean and it should heal and grow out on it's own. Limited excercise on lead to give it a chance to heal and not cause more damage atb Shazza
  16. The author of this thread does Ireland-UK but says he can supply number of someone who just does UK and goes way up north so maybe worth a pm for his details http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/127221-transport-ireland-uk-ireland-weekly/
  17. Only couple i know of are advertised in the for sale board (working dogs & livestock).
  18. Well done mate I was going on Sunday with my pup for a look around but we had visitors turn up and spoilt my day
  19. Haven't laughed so much in ages I have a tattoo of a rabbit on my back so what does that make me? Most likely scared at the lurcher shows
  20. Definately not pure IG as thier legs are as thin as a pencil and shatter easily. (my friend has 4 and they are very frail looking, also rightly said they don't coma in brindle). From the pics it does look like a whippet pup, smallest KC whipp i've met was a 14tts female so could be a pure whippet. Nice pup though and should be quick enough for ferriting & bunnies
  21. Birmingham. Only wanting rabbits and i don't do nothing wrong so nought to hide
  22. Congrats mate and the pup sure looks proud of his bunny. How old & what breeding (i'm guessing beddy in there)
  23. Glad to know there are some genuine good guys on this forum. Well done Bird
  24. The DNA test wont give you any percentages so i've been told, it would just list the breeds within your dog e.g Saluki, Staffy, Grey, Whippet, Chihuahua
