  2. As there was a shortage of rabbits about last night and Amy didn't get that many runs I was back out tonight. There was no wind to speak of but it did get a bit damp. I tried a different bit of permission tonight and there were more rabbits about It took half the time to get double the amount of rabbits we got last night. That's rabbiting for you,you never know how many you'll get or how long it'll take you.
  3. This bit also sells airguns, don't know how competetive the prices are. http://www.glasgowfieldsports.co.uk/
  4. I agree with you regarding breaking to stock, but it's not me or you that has him that might be the biggest problem. I totally agree with what you say about whiney, greety dogs they do my feckin' head in as well. Both Amy and her brother Bob are that way inclined, and whereas it really annoys me Jimmy [bobs owner] can turn a deaf ear to it.
  5. I always struggle to come up with a name for a new puppy, more than once I've changed a pups name because I've been a bit too quick to name it. I always find naming a pup a personal thing, after all you will be calling it that for the rest of it's life. Hope you find a name that suits.
  6. I know what you mean about looks, looks never filled a freezer. I would take Buddy out SJM, but Not sure if they are keen on the idea Steven would be up for it but Elaine might have different ideas. I think it would have to be a sheep free field. I must admit I like the look of him.
  7. I might not have much to show for my trip out but getting out there is what it's about Frank. Plus it blew a few cobwebs off the bitch.
  8. I took Amy out tonight with the lamp,it's been a couple of weeks since we were out due mainly to the frost. There was a reasonable blow and the moon was hidden by the clouds so I was looking forward to some good runs. It didn't quite pan out as I had envisaged. What rabbits were out were very flighty,as soon as the lamp was on they were off. In the first three fields Amy only got the one run which was a long shot,it dissapeared down a bank before she got to it. Amy got the first rabbit of the night in the fourth field, she picked it up just before it reached the hedge. She got a seco

  13. Your dogs will be able to stretch their legs on that ground poacher9991.
  14. Likewise All the best to everyone on the forum.
  15. Yeah the ground is like concrete. Hopefully not for much longer. She'll be excersising those rabbits soon.
  16. At last it's starting to thaw I went a walk out with Amy this morning the ground was still frozen but with rain forecast and the temperature rising I'm hoping to get out with her this coming week. Here's some pics of the walk out. Feck it,the computers playing up,I'll get pics up soon. I'll try again.
  17. Aye you're spot on weejohn the roads and pavements are like ice rinks Looks like the thought of getting a thaw might be a bit premature. When I left to go to the dog track last night at 6.30pm it was minus 6,and when I arrived back at 10pm it was minus 4,so heres me thinking we're heading the right way. This morning it was minus 2 then the rain came,I don't think it rose above freezing all day. And now it's back down to 2 below. Crackin' pics chester the dogs look like they are enjoying themselves.
  18. Good to hear there's folk like Earth and Hounds about.

  20. This is why pigeonhill "asked for hands on experience rather than second and third hand storys" I've never had one or seen one work so don't feel qualified to have an opinion Poacher9991 you say you don't know anyone that owns one I take it you mean personally? As there are a few lads on here that have hancock dogs World Hunters for one and if you take time to read some of his threads about his dog Storm you'll find the lad thinks the world of him But then again you could be right he's probably rubbish. Pigeonhill it would be worth giving World Hunters a PM to ask him ab
