    BEDDING

Have used both in the past Frank, nowadays it's shredded paper for me. I get a bale for £6 which I use for the dogs.
  2. I've just had a call from a mate who is concerned with his pups front leg. He asked me to put it on the forum and asked for your views/experiences. He has noticed there is a bend inwards,in his 11 week old pups leg below the wrist, he says the leg is pointing in the way,so the pup is only walking on the outside of it's foot,he says it seems like there is something loose below the wrist. The pups leg was fine when he got it at 7 weeks. One of his pals told him the bitch will grow out of it as he had a pup with similair symptoms on both front legs years ago and she was fine when she

    Other Hobbies

Try to spend as much time as I can with my 3 boys, ages 12...9..and 5 months. The oldest two take up a lot of my time as they are sporty boys, golf, football, fishing etc. I love fishing for sea trout and salmon, although the sea trout runs are in decline.
  6. Should be done by now,I usually give them 48 hours together.
  7. Sent you a PM pursenet,I never said I had good dogs
  8. Crap? Where did that come from?Don't think anyone said it was crap. You must admit guns,it don't look good.
  9. [quote name='porkypowell' date='Feb 19 2007, A days ferreting needs to be fast paced not held up on a dig when you could be ferreting. Simon So what happens when the ferret is stuck behind a couple of rabbits? Do you sit on the carrying box and await it's return,or get digging, get it back and move on?Which of the above slows you down more? If you dig ONLY when you need to you will actually speed things up. Nobody is advocating that we should be digging at the first oppertunity,if I don't have to dig when i'm out i'm well chuffed, but I know that if I have to I can. Perh

    DVD watched

I got a copy about 2 months ago, rabbiting, dogs + ferrets was the title,I just sat there cringing,i'd be embarassed if it was me in the dvd.The only good thing about it was in made my dogs look half decent.
  11. I believe we are selling our ferrets short big time if we send them into a burie without a collar on.Don't get me wrong I ferreted without them years ago when I didn't own one, but never again. What is the difference between a ferret without a collar and one with a collar when they are both below ground? If you need to you can allways tell where the collared ferret is,this does not mean that you have to dig to it,it just means that you have the option. As for the lads that say if my ferret lays up it's only for 20minutes,well what happens when the ferret is stuck in a stop end with
  12. Must admit some lads take a bit of working out.First up they buy a pup, rear and train it for 9-10 months and before it's old enough to prove itself the dogs up for sale. But then all things are great, the dog catches a few rabbits and it's not for sale. I wonder what will happen if the dog has a bad night and misses some easy catches? Will it be up for sale again? Sorry lads but only two words comes to mind AMATEURS.

    MORE JOKES

Taking a wee break from the golf course, Tiger Woods drives his new Mercedes into an Irish gas station. An attendant greets him in typical Irish manner, unaware who the golf pro is... "Top o' the mornin to ya". As Tiger gets out of the car, two tees fall out of his pocket. "So what are those things, laddie?" asks the attendant. "They're called tees," replies Tiger. "And what would ya be usin 'em for, now?" inquires the Irishman. "Well, they're for resting my balls on when I drive," replies Tiger. "Aw, Jaysus, Mary an' Joseph!" exclaimes the Irish attendant. "Those fellas at Mercede
  15. You are spot on gaz, recently there has been a few posts on my lurchers 1st rabbit aged 61/2 months,7 months etc.In my opinion these pups are far too young, they should still be recieving obedience training instead of working. I don't think there is anything to be gained by starting a lurcher too young,it's all very well to say I just gave it an easy slip, there are no gauranteed easy slips, the rabbit might end up turning the inexperienced pup inside out and the pup might start giving tongue through pure frustration, then the jobs a bad one. No,better to wait a few months more when the pups
  16. Was the rabbit in kit?Looks like it in the pic. Well done to the bitch age? breeding?
  17. If as you say it's a PROBLEM why did you let it happen? What's hard about separating the jill from the hob?
  18. If I was buying a pup i'd want to get it at 6-7 weeks.I would have to know the breeder/rearer well to be prepared to wait untill they were 12 weeks. A lot can be achieved with a pup in those 6 weeks.
  19. Foxtrack answered the same question in you're other thread HB, the jills will be OK to be worked.Just keep an eye on their swelling, making sure it's clean after you've finished.
  20. Armadale race on monday and thursday nights.
  21. There are 5 flaps in Scotland, they are---Armadale---Ayr--Corbiewood--Gretna and Thornton.
  22. Means giving up,opening up is barking/yapping.
  23. Tinned dog food= %water the other 20% is crap.
