  1. Hi peeps looking at getting these, are they any good and worth the money. Currently wanting them as i need some reels that are going to be able to withstand big fish as i am planning a trip to france and i like the fact they have the bait runner switch Cheers
  2. Never 100% mate look at humans for example some time people get pregnant some times they dont
  3. mk1s are good but i prefer the mk3. Price range they arnt too different but the mk1 deben wont repair as they dont make them anymore. I would spend a little bit more and get the mk3
  4. get the deben mk3m setup mate. I bought mine from http://www.bridportnets.co.uk/ and paid 150 for the box and a collar. After that each collar will set you back about £50 to £60. You can get the same setup as me but with two collars instead of the one and you are looking around the £200 mark. Expensive bit of kit but should last you a life time if looked after and also well worth the money. I only have the one collar and use two ferrets havnt had an issues yet, but will purchase another before the start of the new season. Hope that helps
  5. It seems to be a common misconception that pure polecats are bigger than ferrets. A true polecat is small with a stocky, very well muscled, build, plus has a completely different eye set and placement from ferrets. All but a very few of the supposed "polecats" I've seen pics of over the years are almost certainly hybrids or polecat colored ferrets. Well you think its a true polecat?
  6. Hi mate am not sure as i bought it from somebody a few months ago but i think its polecat crossed with an albino. Shes not pure polecat as she isnt big enough
  7. You dont have to watch it  LOL i bet he has it on video haha
  8. No worries oz but make sure you have a good read of a book ect. Try get another as ferrets like company just like humans do If you need any more help just give me a pm Atb Craig
  9. get to your local pet store. Get a water bottle, and a bag of ferret food. Thats all they need really. Make sure they have plenty of shavings and loads of bedding. I use hay for mine and again it costs nothing. Ferrets can pretty much look after themseleves. You can feed them cat food, rabbits ect they will eat just about anything. I also give mine a raw egg once in a while as it is a nice treat for them and it keeps their coats in good nick. As for taking them out, the season is just about over mate, so i wouldnt worry about that just yet. I would just handle the ferrets as much as p
  10. Not long left for me, will do carp fishing during the summer then back end back with the ferrets
  11. confused now as one says yes and other says no lol. Do the mk2 collars woek with mk3 box?
  12. Hi there my mate is thinking of getting a mk2 collar just woundered if that will work with the mk3 box that i have, just so he doesnt have to waste money on a box when i already have a box. Sorry if already been asked did look but couldnt see
  13. I understand what you are saying mate, but thats the life of a forum lol
  14. Why grief the fella, am sure we have all made mistakes before with pets. Isnt the point of the forum to help people out?
  15. hi mate if they havnt bit you then they should be ok. Dont worry about the collar mate, i have the exact same trouble. I guess you wouldnt like something been put around your neck eith so i guess it expected to be a pain. I have a mate that goes with me now and it is so much easier if there are two people believe me lol. Keep us posted on them
  16. As above mate go to your local vets and get them jabbed. I got quoted tenner each which I didn't think was bad
  17. np mate i tend to clench my hand and let them sniff my knuckle that way if they do bite its hard for them to latch on i find
  18. i take between 20 - 40 but i guess it depends on how big the sets are where you go. I always think you can never have too many nets
  19. hi mate, if the ferret is tame and easy to handle it shouldnt be a proplem. I got a albino jill from keith off here and i had never met the guy or ferret before. It was from last years kits and its been great. All i do it just show my knuckle let is sniff then pick it up. My mate has started going with me and he had never held any of my ferrets before. I told him to do the same and they are fine he always has hold of them and not been bit yet. I guess if you call them when you feed them and handle them then they shouldnt be an issue with the ferret not knowing you. Hope that helps
  20. i have noticed my polecat jill has become lazy, used to be going mental when i came to the hutch now she just sits there and waits a while lol. She is also last seasons
  21. hard to get this time of year mate
