    Have any of you had a look at the Vortex Viper PST? Front focal plane, MOA reticle, uncapped turrets seems to be pretty similar to the Nightforce NSX but at £1000 its half the price. Any thoughts on this scope appreciated.

    Hi guys so far ive always bought budget scopes air rifles have always had no name £30 scopes from the local gun shop, my .22lr I spent a little more on and had a Hawke Sport HD £90. Now christmas is coming, Im hoping to purchase my .243 I know everyone says spend as much as you can afford on a scope and I can imagine that a £2000 Zeiss should be £1910 better quality than my Hawke but ... my question to you all is in everyday use (lamping foxes and deer stalking in my case) where is the reasonable middle ground here? What makes would you recomend? I only ask because Im struggling to believe tha

    My mate just recieved his certificate and hastily went out and bought a "Revo Onyx", from what I can make of it its a rebrand of a Turkish shotgun "Kahn Arthemis Onyx". We took it clay shooting this morning it feels and looks cheap its certainly not a gun that you'd treasure but looking at it as a work horse I hit as many clays with it this morning as I did with my Beretta so it does the job and if your after a cheap gun that your going to abuse then it might be an option personally Id just look for something second hand though.

    My brother in law has just bought one, we put a wide range of cartridges through it last weekend and it was spot on. His only complaint was that he needed to go back and get 2 of the choke tubes replaced as the threads werent machined properly so wouldnt screw into the barrel.

    Ok contacted BASC today they said the same .22 RF is .22LR and .243 is .243 Winchester, if it was .22 wmr or .243 AI it would specify it on the ticket, Leicestershire Constabulary same answer so there we go.

    Would be interested to know the outcome for this topic as Ive just got my papers through today and it just says .22 RF. I will take it that it was intended to be the .22 RimFire LR but would be interested to know if it would cover the .22 WMR as well.

    Agree with Ben Ive had a Silver Pigeon V for the past 5 years, great gun. Just see which one fits you best.

    Thanks for the input guys, Ive taken into account everything youve said ive been to a few gun shops and checked out your suggestions and unless something gets posted that dramatically changes my mind I think Im going to go for the Sako 85 Finnlight with Zeiss Duralyte scope and T8 suppressor.

    right so synthetic stock it is in Sako or tikka, little unsure about the ss barrel but I do like the idea of a finnlight, scope im thinking Zeiss and Im taking it that its a general agreement that lighter is better for the purpose i want it for?

    Alright lads looking for a bit of advise on my first rifle, Im looking for a .243 with a buget of around £2500 for the whole package. The rifle will be used for 70% foxing and 30% deer stalking. I do like the look of the Sako's and Tikka's and was looking at the Varmint models however talking to a few people I am told these rifles will be too heavy for stalking and that i should look for a rifle that is as lightweight as possible any opinions on this would be helpful.     My names Charles Im 27, from Leicestershire I live on our 400 acre family farm, my dad got me into air rifle shooting from an early age and as soon as he thought I was ready started me on shotguns .410, 20 bore, then 12 bore. Hoping to get a firearms certificate next so I can get a 22/250 for fox shooting just picked up the application form today so any advise about licencing, rifles, amunition or anything else of relevance would be greatly appreciated.
