    Fascinating to see some of the things on there that you would never witness without the use of hidden cameras, i can even put up with the presenters all raving antis. In my own garden i found 6 dead blue tit chicks about a week off fledging, probably due to a lack of food, the 2 blackbirds nests in the hedge at the bottom of the garden, have been raided bloody magpies no doubt.     One thing not mentioned, why do tv producers always turn out the same crap, trying to show that this type of thing is the norm, in the northern towns of this country. I worked in scunthorpe for a year and found the people great, unlike some of the idiots portrayed in this programme, when the steelworks hit the bad times it hit the town hard. Go to any town in this country north or south and you can find freeloading scumbags. So why do tv producers sat in their cosy little houses in berkshire, feel the need to portray northern towns and cities in the worst light possible.

    Bet we all know one a poacher, a hard man, a bloke with a reputation that isnt justified, a dog that is a world beater, but when push comes to shove it really wasnt that good. So what are your memories of people or dogs that had reputations that they really didnt deserve.     Got a saluki whippet bitch 22tts 32lbs running weight, fast as hell,and has a bit more in the tank than some of the whippets ive owned, surprised there arent more of them about, dont think you would gain much by putting to a larger whipgrey but its a cross that well worth considering.     One for the pro pest controllers on here over the last few years ive been doing rabbit control on a part time basis, seems ive been succesful on that part, so ive been approached by a rural council to control the rabbits, on graveyards parkland ect. But i need public liability insurance, i run my own building firm, but when i checked up on my insurance couldnt find out whether i was covered for that kind of work. A friend suggested joining the Countryside alliance as their insurance seemed to cover this, any sensIble suggestions would be greatly appreciated, YIS KIC. Footnote watership down

    Sad to think there are so many more missing that may never be found my grandfather survived the trenches it changed his personality my grandmother said dont know whether she meant for the good or the bad. One thing i do know is he taught me the art of living off the land, poaching ferreting, ect, and for that i will always have the highest respect for what i considered my best teacher. YIS KIC.

    Greyhounds have prey drive in abundance, but not the most biddable of dogs, very few guys work pure greys, however the saluki is not renowned as being the mensa equivalant of the canine world. I think there will be a resurgance to the old type of working lurcher, as said the saluki favours the big fields, but as a sighthound based dog yeah it certainly has a future in breeding. My view is that lurchers are falling into two catergories, sighthound lurchers, and the more tractable working lurcher which isnt just a one trick pony. YIS KIC.
