    Most guys on here of my generation are familiar with the film KES inspired by the book a kestrel for a knave, in my mind one of the best british films ever made, But a book that made a great impression on me as a kid was Wild Lone a book by Denys Watkins Pritchard pen name BB. It was about a fox written from the foxes point of view, which in the mind of a 9 year old when i read it was about as radical as you could get . Did any books have the same effect on you.

    Did you watch it tonight and whats your view, enjoyed seeing the sealyhams working rats, doing what they were bred for, albeit not that well my whippet has a faster kill rate than those dogs and has not been bitten for a long time, since she had one attached to her lip as a youngster, good programme though.

    Good shot mate, saw a yellowhammer on a hawthorn hedge the other day while walking the mutts of course never had a camera, it landed 10ft in front of me , the colours were brilliant. I dont think people realise how beautiful our native species are.

    Few more round my way than ten years ago, when i was a kid in the 60s they were the second most common nesting bird, you knew when you put your hand in the nest and felt smooth dried mud it was a thrushes nest, this was in the days when every kid had an egg collection. Mistle thrushes are quite common near me i see loads on a sports field nearby.     Genetic engineering in its worst form, who decides the breed standards, the rubbish that is spouted by these clowns is unbelievable. The whippet for example should have no flat surfaces only curves as said in their commentary. so if you want a whippet dont get one of those long flat backed types that are bred for health and speed, get yourself a nice little roachy backed number that you can breed from and charge exhorbitant prices for an inferior animal, the show fraternity must be bordering on insanity if they believe their own bullshit.

    Good program hope it educates some of the Brian May followers, to the reality of dairy farming and the heartbreak that TB can inflict, not to mention the potential financial ruin. I hope the following programmes show hunting in a different light to what is normally portrayed by the media, most antis seem to live in a disneyfied world, totally unaware of the realities of modern farming or hunting.

    I work lurchers and i also shoot , but hare drives are are pretty sickening it takes very little skill to shoot a running hare,its not like taking a high flying bird, ive said it before going as a gun on a hare drive would be like going on a firing squad to me. I would be ashamed of myself.

    Dont rule out a good second hand pair i picked up a pair of 10x50 carl zeiss jena jenoptem for a steal at £15 and the optics are crystal clear, plenty of zeiss on ebay.

    Kind of restored my faith in the legal system when a judge has the guts to issue the kind of sentences on the scum, that have ruined the lives of so many in rotherham. Whats your view.
