  1. Ain't my dream at all mate, don't want silly big, but i like a good sized, long, lean, hard jill me either,i like a strong ferret, hob or jill,if they are slower then so be it but i like them to bully the rabbit, not the other way around.
  2. most likely he is in season and they come out and look a lot bigger, could have been like this for a while but like you admit you don't really look, prob nothing to worry about but a pic to show the more experienced on here won't hurt and could give you more peace of mind...
  3. should be ready to take away from the mother at about 7,687,453 weeks but seriously at 6 weeks they can be taken away but i'd say 8/10 is best, you will be lucky to avoid an earhole bashing for this...
  4. that's a good point,if she's in pain she would turn nasty so worth a look... hey f mac is "the band of idiots" official now? why u want to join don't think i qualify,my posts never get a reaction!maybe i'm too soft :whistling:

  6. here you go ferret girl, any advice for this one?
  7. has she had a scare or been hurt?a couple of months ago my 3 year old boy tried to get my hob out and trapped him in the hutch door,he then latched onto his thumb and when the mrs tried to get him off he bit her arm,he's never bitten before or since so could something similar have happened?...
  8. if you can get the rabbit to run into your nets it should work, will be back netted so will need pulling out and hey presto!

    new gun

me and a friend were shooting rabbit at dusk the other night and he took a rabbit from what i paced to 42 yards with a .22 raider, not quite the same but thought it worth a mention!!
  10. top life formula kitten milk, about 50p a carton from asda/tesco... as said not cow's milk they are lactose intolerant, this stuff is goat's milk with all the benefits of milk...
  11. that's similar to one of my permissions, fairly small horse place but good for shooting/ferreting,so happy days
  12. sounds fairly normal,if something was wrong there would most likely be physical signs, not vocal,a trip to the vet won't hurt(except your wallet )so keep an eye on him and let us know after your trip to the vet...
  13. looking forward to the ferreting stories and pics, come on the ferreting season...
  14. it's nice to hear about such gestures, there is a good community of ferreters on here that do right by each other when the need arises, makes a pleasant change from reading the negative shite aimed at the inexperienced...
  15. rake aboot is right, there are lots of "silly" questions posted on here that frustrate people because they genuinely care about the welfare of all ferrets, you did right asking for advice and you will get a lot from thl but as we all do every now and then you must take criticism on the chin,if people can take the time to reply they should give help as well as moan(if that makes them feel better)but don't let it get to you just listen to the good and learn from the bad we all started at the begining with little or no knowledge, and now some are like encyclopaedia's!! and good luck with the lit
  16. thank fudge for that! i've also turned down a good amount of pheasant because i worried about the shot in them!!maybe now i'll get a bit more free grub
  17. hi all just a quick question,i have always gone and shot food for the ferrets when i need to and have always checked for the pellet and removed it or the meat around it because i thought the pellet may be harmful to the ferrets, recently a friend has given me some rabbit he shot and i threw one in without thinking, will the pellet matter or have i been worrying over nothing,thanks...
  18. it's good to see the ferreting community pulling together...i learned by tagging along as a kid and i do believe if you don't ask you don't get...
  19. sorry to here whenever someone loses one, hope your kits make it keep us updated...
  20. it would be nice for these people to learn a harsh lesson(i assume we all think they breed hundreds just for the money?)but in the end the ferrets would probably just suffer... (i would like to emphasise probably!)
  21. my in laws are the same,i'll handle my ferrets no trouble then my 3 year old has a hold, even the mrs has a hold and then they are like ooh don't they bite? even though they've watched them be picked up and handled by everyone else... i suppose most people of that generation just assume they are viscious little buggers,so hopefully we can bridge that gap in the near future...
  22. ah children!the reason i have padlocks on mine...
  23. And he thanked you i bet hes searching gumtree for a european angora micro greyhound right now and i wouldnt be surprised if someone was selling one on there quality...
