  1. Do the police really send out a helicopter to catch laddies lamping? WTF!!!! How much does it cost to scramble a helicopter? Serious stuff eh?
  2. Seriously tho - if this is the first time for your dog he may just need time? Some are a bit slow? How old are they? Is he showing any interest at all?
  3. Good quality leather collars and leads are about £25.00 new for a set!!!
  4. Yeah lets have a scrap - video it and stick it on Youtube...great stuff this eh?
  5. Fox??? Deer??? Deer gets the nod from me - besides you can (ooops silly me) could eat them!!!!
  6. Ha ha ha ha priceless this lot eh? No matter what kinda day you've had you can be assured you'll find something to laugh at on THL.
  7. Might be Plod??????? When you see big ears tell him I was asking after him??????
  8. I know two or three keepers and they certainly aren't anti lurcher - they are anti idiot tho? It's not the dogs it's the f*****g pricks at the end of the lead with their trakkies tucked into white socks and manky trainers with a limited or non existant knowledge of nothing or the roadsiders who drive wherever they want chucking bull xs out of the back of a pick up. That's the problem.
  9. Not good mate. Our old Border Terrier ain't good and hasn't been for a wee while. He's nearly 14, deaf and has gone downhill quick in the last 6 months. We were hoping he's see the summer out but it's not looking likely. Decision to be made???? All the best - take care.
  10. Aye boot its arse - that'll work right enough and it'll toughen it up too. Can't believe you wrote that mate!!! Do that a few times and when it's totally f*****g ruined pass it on to someone else as a dog just ready to start.
  11. Prick "They all sound hard as nails" - maybe you've been 'listening' too much eh?
  12. Hi i bought my new pup 6 weeks ago and picked her up from david myself , from the momment i met him he made me feel at ease a very friendly man who helped me with his vast knowledge as this is my first lurcher , i went into every dog pen and all appeared to be cleaned regularly with fresh bedding and healthy alert dogs inside ,the man himself cared very much about his animals and in his office were thankyou letters and updates about his pups going back many years. As for my pup i have only good things to say about her . She is quick to learn , already at this young age she sits, retrieves bac
  13. Dunno exactly but he must be in his 70s possibly nearer .
  14. Of course everyone who knocks Hancock and doesn't agree with his ways referring to him as an intensive puppy farmer who rears dogs, caged 24/7 in piles of shit (not my experience I can assure you)will know exactly where their food comes from. They'll shun intensively reared beef, pork, chicken and turkey and will run a mile at the sight of a battery egg and will always strive know the provenance of all they eat and perhaps the things they wear...WILL THEY f**k!!!!! I spoke to one guy the other day who trotted out the old anti-Hancock cliches with - what seemed to be 'good authority' I asked hi
  15. Someone who can accept that every dog has it's foibles, limitations and quirks without passing it on the first time it comes up short. And someone who also accepts that those same foibles, limitations and quirks may well be down to his own shortcomings as a dogman.
  16. A good dog can't be a bad colour mate - some of the old time myths and old poacher's tales are a pile of shit. And one of the earlier posters is right a black dog stands out just as much in the daytime as a white dog
  17. Collie greyhounds can do this at around 6-10 months. It's a kind of juvenile delinquency stage. When the dog in my avatar was 8 months old we went through a bad patch. He wouldn't come to me, totally ignored me and basically did the opposite of what he was asked to do! It lasted perhaps two months and then it was fine and I had him until he died at 11 years old. I have a 7 month old 3/4 collie greyhound at the minute who had wee spell a few weeks back - he'd look at you when you recalled him with a 'f**k off' glint in his eye and carry on with what he was doing. Really annoying - I just tend t
  18. Hey all good eh? Never fed horsemeat - how do they do on it?
  19. Well mate that little lot was quite eventful eh? Just ignore the knockers and enjoy your puppy I'm sure you'll have years of great fun with her. Take care and all the best with your puppy.
  20. Dunno mate but if it's that bad I'd be taking it to the vet? Good luck.
  21. Yeah, and I have shit myself too in the past. Dog flat to the boards, quarry under, over or through and you know the dog's following it no matter what. I've watched through half shut eyes in the past as they've thrown themselves over whatever was in front of them and felt the old heart palpating and held my breath. Had our share of accidents, trips to the vet and time off to recuperate. But I'd rather that than no jumping. I love watching a good, athletic dog jump well. Funny thing is you can get dogs that can jump some serious heights apparently with little effort - party piece type thing - b
