lads and lasses what your take on this

Certainly not at 11 months old? What makes you think this is even an idea worth considering? Give her four or five seasons hard graft, see how she turns out and maybe then you could think again eh? -
Yeah, that's more like it. Looks great!

Never had a whippet and never will bit in my opinion the black dog looks the better dog. It certainly looks more robust and capable of doing the job. The fawn/white bitch is nice but doesn't impress me.

I knew someone who had a dalmatian with half a tail. It was called Duncan and it honestly was the thickest most stupid dog I've ever seen. Give it a miss mate be more rescue home jobs given time. And it was also prone to breaking out in these ridiculous black spots which didn't help the way it looked!!!!

No digging - hey mate you ain't done much ferreting. not true mate my jill has gone round a 30 hole warren bolted all rabbits and destroyed all kits after less than half an hour and a couple of shouts she popped up to get back in the bag needless to say we called it a season Yeah and you ain't done much feretting either lad. How the f**k do you know she bolted all the rabbits and destroyed all the youngsters? Cloud cuckoo land son!!! -
So am I right to think that on rows 11, 12 and 13 you are knitting to 18 wide. If not can you perhaps give me a breakdown on how this 23 row net works out. Appreciate your time. Thanks. Basically as you describe start with 8 and increase each end of every other row so by 10 I have 18 on the meshboard 3 rows at 18 and then start decreasing every other row back down to 8 Y.I.s Leeview Cheers mate did this and it worked great. Appreciate your help and time.

Hi mate - he's 3/4 grey 1/4 collie - just the way I wrote it in the original post I think? Yeah - he was seriously diffucult to get on with. It was hard work. As soon as he was out of the house in the field everything was excellent. He's getting better all the time. Thanks.

I actually wondered about this a wee while ago. I know a bunch of guys who go abroad 2/3 times a year shooting. They stay in a cabin for a few days at a time and enjoy their sport in another setting. Would it be possible to do this with dogs? Yeah passport and jabs needed but it doesn't seem too out of the way - does it? Anyone had any experience of this? Be good to hear about it.

Yeah he's a nice pup KittleRox. I chose the biggest, strongest most 'in yer puss' puppy on the place. I was slightly concerned that he was 'getting on a bit' (14 weeks) in terms of being a puppy ready to go. I think that was my mistake. Won't happen again. Collie madness - to be honest it was the wife and I that almost went mad??? In fairness, I'm really lucky, I'm self-employed and work outside and was able to take him with me to work. Had I had a 'normal' 9-5 job and my wife hadn't been on matrnity leave with the baby it would have been much more difficult. Judging by your posts you,v

Dogs for me. Dunno, just seem not to gel with bitches as well. Dogs always seem to be less complicated - or is that just a female in general thing???

Just go find some sheep in a field out of the way somewhere and walk through, past and amongst them. Is it the end of the world if someone comes and asks what you are up to? If everything's under control no harm done. That's what I'd do. Go find some sheep, cattle etc. As the other poster said "Just do it" All the best mate.

Great pics - dogs look well.

Lovely dogs mate - credit to you.

Thanks - yeah I'm sure there'll be many good years to come.

Couldn't agree more. If you are going to get yourself a lurcher don't get an older dog 'just ready to start' as it's just about certain you'll be taking on something that someone's all but totally ruined or has problems. I speak from experience of once (long ago) being 18 and making this mistake!!!

they can also produce them at 23" as well mate.. On a foot note, i reckon it will be 36lb in weight, and catch 43 rabbits in its 1st season. Be put to fox to early and have jacked by the time its 18mth old. Then it'll be advertised in the Countryman's Weekly as a 'Top Class Working Lurcher' Sire - Saluki/Collie/Bull/Whippet - Dam - Deerhound/Beddy/Collie/Greyhound Genuine Reason for Sale...blah de blah de f*****g blah £400. No Timewasters.

Thanks Chalkwarren - yeah things are better now and he's great fun to be around. Looking forward to the future.

Yeah - he's a Hancock puppy. Out of Kubla. He's the 3rd puppy I have had from David. I had a Taffy 3/4 bred and a Richard Jones Half cross in the 80s. I was without a big dog since my 3/4 died around 1995. So after a period of almost 15 years and some incessant ear bending from my 13 year old son we have this puppy. No regrets. He's a real bundle of exuberance and I've loved having a big dog again. My wife is warming to him - it was a close thing for a while - I almost had to get rid of the wife. Nah, joking apart the dog was never ever going anywhere despite things not being easy. I don't buy

When I brought him home in December he was 14 weeks old. I'd never bought a puppy at that age before. I'd always had them at around the 8 week mark. It took him months to settle and even now he isn't 100% but it is manageable. He had two other dogs (older terriers) for company but night after night he'd whine and bark and scrape at the door despite having the company. He couldn't be left for any time through the day on his own with the other dogs as he'd howl and bark. Never seen anything like it before. It about drove me f*****g mad!!! I just ignored it and almost resorted to anti-bark collar

I'd be taking it to the vet mate. Best get it checked out. Good Luck.
