I feed Gain Greyhound 28 and raw minced chicken - wings and quarters, beef, lamb - lamb breast, rabbit, heart, liver, kidney, tripe, tinned mackerel, sardines, tuna and I add a bit of veg, pasta, rice or brown bread. Beef and lamb bones and cod liver oil twice or thrice a week. Keep it interesting and varied and you'll be fine. Not sure you can overfeed a thriving lurcher puppy tho? I have an 8 week old first cross collie greyhound puppy at the minute and I'm feeding him 4 times daily - 6am, 11am, 4pm and 9pm. David Hancock has been in business breeding collie lurchers for almost 30 years. It's a pretty tall order to set up a business of any kind and still be trading after that length of time. Don't think for one minute he'd have survived this long if he'd been breeding shit as most of his knockers will tell you. You'll know what you're getting and you'll never need to come on here, post pics and ask folk what they think "is in her" and have mind boggling permutations posted back. I visited with David and Sally last weekend and Sally was telling me that they're putting their prices up to £230 from

Can you tell me tomorrow winning lottery numbers too? I predict that anybody who thinks its fine to churn out pups for profit from dogs that never see a lamp/ferret or outside of a yard for that matter is not the sort of person whos thoughts mirror my own........... I find it really disconcerting that on another post on another THL subform someone asked the owner of a bull x if he'd used the dog on Pakis yet?!?1 Yeah that's right "have you used it on Pakis yet" sets a great example eh? You laugh but I was talking to someone last summer that has a brand new huge camper van thing. Must have been £80ks worth somehow all through mobility or whatever its called. :wallbash: Technically I could claim disability due to injuries but I can work just fine with a few painkillers each day. Yeah - that figures? Lots of folk have wheat intolerances so why not dogs? Not meant to eat wheat anyway eh? When I was a boy the majority of shepherds I worked with fed their collies flaked maize soaked in water or milk if the house cow had a surplus. Yeah, that's right flaked maize!!!! And if the dogs were lucky house scraps - and there wouldn't be many leftovers either.

21% protein for a 7 month old lurcher puppy doesn't seem to me like it would be too much! Probably the opposite. I feed mines Gain 28, which is, as it says, 28% protein which seems more appropriate for a fast growing lurcher puppy. I certainly wouldn't be lovering the protein conten of its diet at this stage of its life. Add some chicken/rice or better still take it to the vet.

I feed mines Gain 28 which will do for adults and puppies and also raw. They look well on it.
