  1. How about a pic and some idea of what it's capable of and achievements to date? Mite help?
  2. Here's a few pics of my 8 week old blue merle first cross puppy.
  3. Hey buddy - I'm not having a go at you personally - my above post is a general observation. However, no point having a go at me mate. I was one of the members who offered you what I consider was relatively sound advice. Which you basically failed to heed from what I can gather. I'd call it a day at this point mate...good luck.
  4. 3/4 bred and 1/2 bred collie greyhounds - not everyone's cuppa - buy they're a fit for me.
  5. And I also think there's far to many 'point-and-shoot' lurchermen out there - who are only interested in getting to the 'slipping the dog' and 'killing the quarry' part of the game whilst paying scant regard to all the stuff that's necessary beforehand - ie, basic/advanced obedience and stockbeaking? Keep it locked up 'til it's ten months old then...oh, f**k me it's chasing/killing sheep!!! Just my opinion.
  6. Nah you're not on your own mate...
  7. Hey Adam - that's a real shame. You were offered what I would consider pretty sound advice from some obviously knowlegeable folk. And from where I'm sitting it looks like you chose to do your own thing. Pity that! I did hope you would be able to pull it off and that both you and your pup would be able to move on. Shame really!!!
  8. Tidy bitch mate all the best with her.
  9. Is the missus' not sorting you then Paddy?
  10. Why would who allow what??? 6 dogs for sale in the same advert,,,? Peddler Ok! Money mate that's why they'd allow it. Plain and simple. The bigger the advert that more they rake in.
  11. That's a point. I bought a tin on Xmas day as I was at the inlaws and took the dogs as we were going to be there a long time. I forgot to bring dog food so went the corner shop and bought a tin. I threw it in the bin when the ingredients said 4% meat. They had turkey like the rest of us instead. f**k that!!! No way would I be feeding my mother-in-law's turkey to my dogs. I wouldn't eat it myself!!!
  12. That was hard to watch. Maybe it should be removed. That's nothing short of disgraceful and also nothing short of fuel for those who wish to see hunting banned in its entirety everywhere? Not good!
  13. Longears!!!!!????? Pre-ban of course. Which would make you about 10!!!!!
  14. Yeah they were sealed units and you're right they were costly to replace but they were excellent bits of kit.
  15. Whey ye may be right, but I doubt you wor born when Plummer was aroond !!LOL !! Cheers. Ha Ha Ha - Ah wish, it's been a long time since 1965!!!!!!!!!
  16. That' simple - a dog, a bitch and a copy of D.B. Plummer's 'Practical Lurcher Breeding' - what could possibly go wrong!!!!
  17. Yeah - that's exactly what I'm on about - I bought 24 tins of Butcher's Tripe Loaf 6 months ago and have used 7 tins. Emergency standby only.
  18. Anyone feed tinned dog food? I always keep a supply and feed them in only when I forget to take meat out of the freezer...it doesn't seem to do any harm over 1-2 feeds and they don't mind. Anyone else?
  19. I pay around £11/12 per bag and I buy 6/8 at a time. Have a look at www.gainfeeds.com it'l tell you all you need to know. And I'm sure the site has a supplier list. The company is based in Ireland. So, if that's where you are you'll be able to get it no worries. They do a Puppy and Sapling and Gain Record Breaker and also a Gain 20% for resting etc. atb
  20. Gain 28 mine look great on it mate. It's a bit too high in the protein stakes for my terriers and I have them on Gain 20. Used by some of the country's top greyhound handlers so if it's good enough for them then it's good enough for what we need in a complete food. I do add raw though but it would work well on its own until you get sorted out with meat. ATB
  21. That IS true, it's a bit of a Catch 22, if your new to it and don't know any one, your a bit screwed, or at least it takes a lot longer. Simple answer is, if you were not lining Gem, it'd take a lot longer for me to find the pup i wanted, but i'm sure with enough feelers out for long enough, something good would come up, it usually does (Can't beat optimism). Just might have to put in some time and miles. Think about that guy we met at the show with the collie/greys, or that Keeper mat, with one? Or the guy with that stud dog? They are out there, and your right, they are kept quiet
  22. Yet you still feel compelled to reply ....tell me this bright boy how would you get to see the dam working? If she's not long whelped she will hardly be fit enough to take out for a demo will she. Well, 'bright boy', you get to know folk with decent dogs and you go and see the dam work BEFORE she is mated. Not rocket science is it mate. I wasn't knocking the dogs from Hancocks kennels, if you actually read what i posted, it's just that i don't really agree with the way he produces them There are understandable reasons why people buy pups from him and i have also put that i
  23. How about calling it Flint? Always fancied calling a dog Flint but never had one that the name fitted really.
