  1. Seriously, I'd pay to listen to Whin. Only met him once. Be better than the telly and something you could tell your grandkids about - the Lothian's answer to Fred Rolfe!!!!! Book in there somewhere!!! Instead of I Walked by Night he could call it I've Talked Some Shite!!!!!! Only joking - good idea. You arrange it and I'll get a minibus full...
  2. I got 16oz nylon last week from Bridport and it was black. Can't the guy at Bridport get you fixed up with another colour? He's really helpful.
  3. Couldn't be arsed with that mate - had it all before. Do yourself a favour and ditch the idiots and halfwits...even if that means you're out on your own. Decided 6 months ago to shed anyone in my life that wasn't going to bring positivity to things. There's a few gone and one or two more to ditch...it's a good feeling...try it!!! Ha, ha, ha, - couple of them will be reading this - aye you know who you are!!!!!
  4. He was in Porridge mate - but I think it was a one off - played the old guy who was in for murder but got reprieved only to have done it all along!!!!! Only fools...Open All Hours, Frost, Darling Buds... al a hard act to follow!!!
  5. Smart pup - looking well as they always do!
  6. This is the simply the best - most common sense post I've ever read on THL Yeah - when the brain writes cheques the body can no longer cash you tend to look at things slightly differently. I've had good dogs in the past that probably wouldn't be half as good if I had them now.
  7. Yep mate it's rough - I've got to make a decision shortly with my old Border - he's 13 and was a good dog...take care eh?
  8. I've had four dogs from Hancock. The dog in my avatar was a Taffy 3/4 bred and I had him in the mid 80s. He was a very good dog who did the lot. I also had a Richard Jones half x - who was shaping to be a good fox dog but broke his leg when he was three so he never reached his full potential which was a shame. I also had a 3/4 bred by Kubla which I had pts at 14 months last November and at the moment I have a half x Alex puppy who is 9 months old and to be honest I'm pretty excited about this dog. He's one of the cleverest I have trained, 26" tts rough blue merle (bigger than I had expected)
  9. It's obvious you both appreciate what your mum's doing guys - that's great. Take care.
  10. I disagree, at one point i was out of work and went to citizens advice, and spoke to the benefits people, despite having no savings, young children and bills i was told it would take 18 weeks for the benefits to kick in, i was entitled to a 25% reduction on my council tax and a job seekers claim of £67.50, what f*****g use was that after 20 odd years of paying tax and national insurance contributions. How can £67.50 pay for a families food/mortgage/gas/electric/water rates/tv licence/house insurance/car insurance/food etc etc...... Simple answer is it can't, we could of easily found ourselve
  11. You say you've tried "most things" and that might be the problem? I use Gain Puppy & Sapling as well as Gain Record Breaker and Gain 28. All pretty high in protein but they work for me. I feed raw too. Try and find something that works and stick with it!
  12. Does anyone have a number of a dog transporter in the UK - sure there was one advertised here just before xmas who was just starting up for him or herself? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Colin.
  13. You,re 1/64 oot lol Think you're wrong!!!! lol
  14. they would be ideal apart from the deerhound the staff and the saluki ideally im after a beddi whippett greyhound to a collie whippett greyhound but ill take any way they are mixed id like the collie in the dads side pref though thanks though mate and best of luck with the pups. That's exactly what I thought!!! Be far better dogs without the deer/sal/staff...
  15. "Look out criminal plods about" f**k all new there then!!!! Local story from where I live - Woman gets collared in Morrison's for stealing make up. Seemingly the store staff had been watching her for a while. She gets caught and taken to an office in the store to await the arrival of the police. Police attend and the one of the coppers turns out to be the shoplifter's husband. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink - thief leaves store with her weasely faced copper husband (told not to return to store again) and there's nothing more said!!! Utter disgrace - it was in all the national newspapers. Of cour
  16. What way crossed is better 1/2 X or 3/4 grey If he does go for a collie x - I reckon he'd be better with a 3/4 grey - 1/4 collie. Less stressful by far.
  17. Great pics and some really nice terriers there. Love the Russell in the 2nd and 3rd pics!!! How tall is it tts? Really nice type of dog.
  18. Great pics and some really nice terriers there. Love the Russell in the 2nd and 3rd pics!!! How tall is it tts? Really nice type of dog.
  19. cheers ross , i'm sure he'll be fine , but it is back to basics for him , need to spend much more time now Yeah mate - I'm sure he'll be fine eh? Lifes to short to listen to bullshit from folk you've never met. ATB
  20. Why not? I've run dogs in fields which contain sheep for years. Dog ignores sheep and pursues quarry. No hassle - no problems. If you're running dogs up here and your only gonna run them in fields/land without sheep you'll be pretty limited - not to mention foxhound packs which hunt in sheep country all over the UK. I've ran dogs through livestock with numerous farmers/shepherds in tow!!! As long as they're not heavily pregnant or have lambs at foot there's no problem and to be honest the sheep will, by and large, ignore the dogs!!!! The guy who started this topic is a proper and dedicated dog
  21. Don't make resoloutions as a rule - as in the past they've usually lead to disappointment by February. But I'm going to try to be less selfish and a bit more understanding without suffering fools!!! Easy eh?????
  22. Happy New Year to all - hopefully you and yours will prosper in 2012. All the best and take care. Colin.
  23. Seen a few ruined by starting too young - can't thing I've seen any screwed up by letting them be for a while. I had a really god Border x Lakeland way back in the 's and he was 3 years old before he struck a blow. And he was one of the best terriers I ever had and he sired some pretty dependable (if a little too hard) stock in his time. You can't undo what's done but you can call the shots if it isn't done yet!!! All depends on the dog too. Happy New Year
  24. Some decent guys on this forum - Paca sent me a cracking 12 week choc patterdale bitch puppy over from Ireland and didn't want a penny for it. Lifelong Cumbrian and Jock Meikle provided me with ferrets - the latter drove from Aberdeen with 2 jills for me. And Leeview has been helpful regarding net making info. Once again guys thanks for all and hopefully you and yours will have the 2012 you deserve. Happy New Year - Colin
