Raw and bones!!!! You can't go wrong with this diet. Too many folk overthink and over complicate what they feed their dogs and others simply scoop shit out of 15kg bags into dog bowls. Simple - raw and bones. All the best.

I totally agree that buying a pup from a 'name' is no guarantee of future working success but you will have some guarantees on its breeding and make up.

I feed lamb bones two or three times a week alomg with raw, brown bread and veg and have no problems. The dogs - terriers and lurchers - eat all lamb bones completely and do well on it. White dog shit ha ha ha!!!!!!!!

Arnt there enough dogs about that look nice and have never seen a days work in there life. Kc registrations arnt worth the paper they're written on. Why does it need to be recognised by the kennel club? What benefits will that bring? well im pretty sure its to get a working standard within the breed after all theres nothing worse than having different "types" of patterdales in the hands of people who just want to use them for work. if we can KC reg them and get them bread true to type then it will only benefit the breed imo. plus then there will be no need to breed a patterdale to a differ

Almost 47 - self employed doing something I love - 4 kids - 2 girls and 2 boys - ranging from 20 to 18 months and have another baby boy on the way at the end of June. Best wife in the world and some nice dogs. All good. Pretty lucky and I appreciate it all. Has it always been like this??? Has it f**k...but that's a long story...

Sounds exactly like reverse sneezing. Quite alarming to look at but should clear up. Having said that - once needed antibiotics to clear it up in one dog.

All good info and advice - mines had kc last year and it cleared up and all was good after a couple of weeks. Don't stress the dog and give it time.

Aint that the sad truth P!! After the initial post i thought about helping to organise something, but getting members together off here, add a bar and it would be like a human cockfight, the ammount of chest puffing and posturing would put Louis Spence to shame, it would be a farce and as you say, i pity the poor soul who would have to stand in front of many of our members and give an interesting talk, the stress for them would not be imaginable. Which is a great shame as on this board we have men who have walked the walked and can tell a great story but i can just imagine it now in my minds

Many of the older generation have seen it and done it in a time without legislative restrictions and the stigma attached to being a "hunter", Harcombe,Gould,Chapman,Nuttall,our own Chalkie,Didrekson, these are characters from a lost era, who will be the characters in 50 years? Personally i think the game will be f****d and thee era of characters is gone...........
