  1. Budweiser most times but a yeager w/red bull goes down well from time to time.
  2. I'm just 46 now. I'm surpised it wasn't mentioned that we walked to school everyday... uphill both ways. Seriously though isn't it a shame how paranoid the world has become... things haven't changed that much really... Except that now we can either hear or read about Everything that happens on the planet... and That makes the world Paranoid. Like that old saying... "Ignorance is bliss." Jmo...
  3. I don't know HOW anybody could stand to be in the same building cooking such putred smelling shite!
  4. Hmmmm.... you may be onto something there.... instead of us all just throwing away our marg.
  5. Thanks Parkstone, THAT was a great reply. With that answer.... here is a question, not just to you Parkstone but to everyone; If you have pups and the parents work... is it ethical to mention names the likes of Sooty Sam if that dog is in the pedigree of the pups? How many times does a "named dog" in the pedigree need to be there for someone to say "the pups are off X" lines? Just wondering what everyone thinks.
  6. From what I've read on other posts and boards, You have some HUGE fox in the UK. Ours don't get nearly as big... sure we may see the odd fox that has some size but its definitely not the norm. 20 pounds would be a large fox here. Now the raccoon here in the states can range from 9 to 40 plus pounds depending on where in the US. The coon are liable to do more damage than fox. In fact most people I've talked to that have worked dogs to fox will hardly admonish the fox as a test in proving a terriers hunt drive... and a 20 or 22 inch whippet is far more dog than the terriers (12 inches) that
  7. Am I wrong in my interpretation of what Parkstone is saying... those that are racing form guidelines (under 20 inches etc?) and used for racing is the only true Laguna line? Just wondering which way he's saying as its a bit aloof in the answer. In other words saying the Mike Brown whippets aren't Laguna line?
  8. Jimfim, those look some fine pups!
  9. As I have been told That is the difference with the Laguna line whippets... they were able to work to more than rabbit & hare pre-ban. A bit hardier type is how I take it to mean.
  10. Good to know. Has anyone noticed if you see it happen with the lurchers more or the longdogs... or does it even make any difference?
  11. Sounds more like a scent hound, perhaps a little of the blood in them maybe? (no pun intended)
  12. I've seen the name from time to time, so thought I'd ask. I'm getting a lurcher pup off Laguna whippet lines over a Hancock lurcher bitch. Hoping for the best and like to know about the dogs and lines in general.
  13. Looks like a nice enough pup to me.
  14. See any fox along the ditchlines? I used to work pipeline, fresh ditchline always seemed to bring them about... them and everything else. :thumbs-up:
  15. How is it trouble with another dog loose?
  16. I hope your gov pays attention and repeals the law!
  17. Anyone had any hunting experience with them? Pre-ban?
  18. I hope the US doesn't come to the same. I haven't read the story but you all sure have a rough go with all the anti's over there. Any chance that the laws will get reversed for hunting? I found a report where some official was giving counts of hares, fox etc. It looked to me that he was trying to promote more hunting... not sure how old the report was though.
  19. What is/was your favorite predator call?
  20. I've only been into the longdogs for a short time and I've read these names in posts here and there, anybody know anything about them?

It doesn't pass the actual experience the parent had on... but I think its like a dormant shadow of memory. Kinda like de'ja'vu maybe... have you ever wondered where that comes from when it happens to You? It helps the pup to learn on given experiences quicker. jmo
  22. I've got (or had) a very nice flowering bush but they've been stripping the bark and chewing the branches. The male will chew anything, I've caught him nicking boxes of nails when I was working on the kennel!! Hammers, 2x4 end cuts... he definitely has a fetish for wood.
  23. I've got a stag (deerhound) cross, she's just over 7 months now. I only let her run in the yard which is good enough size for her to get up a little speed but a couple of times she's yelped while playing with the others. Nothing hurt her, it was I believe as many are saying in this thread... that their bones and joints are still soft. I won't let her out on any long runs. I had her on the fairgrounds a couple of times and let her run one time, luckily nothing happened but she's getting keen on small animals now so she'll be on a long leash. Good thread this, glad to read it.
  24. Some of you know me. Nothing special about me, just like the dogs and all. Got hooked on the terriers and now I've got the lurcher bug. I'm thinking maybe a ferret is in the future.
