I've heard the quarry in the UK is "sluggish" compared to the their counterparts in the US. Even heard them referred to like our opossum on a few occassions. Now I take everything with a grain of salt mind you. Don't beat the messenger... just saying it as its been told over the years. The quarry over here is more elusive, agile and boldly aggressive. Most species of quarry here are nomadic... some use the same setts over and over but not if there is much pressure they won't. But they aren't stupid either... they'll make a sett right under your house if they know they're safe th

12 digs ain't alot for a 3yr old mate. Quality beats Quantity everytime. One might put a dog to quarry 100 times but if they are bolts then you wouldn't compare that to a Digging type dog that only gets a couple dozen now would you? Anyone? Besides that... maybe he has a Real Job which has priority in feeding his family, pays the bills etc.... just the fact that he works the dog when he could say "fek-it" and go for the ribbons instead says A Lot in itself. These boards are nothing more than a place to share a bit of fun... none of us really Knows anything about othe

Canada is trying to suit the United States because their people have been running their air conditioners more now these past summers than they ever have in the past. Perhaps everyone thats getting snow in places they don't normally get it should take the United States to court for snow removal costs too.

Is snow there a rare thing?

I've known a few people that have or do from time to time but its not like you can go out and just do it the way its done there. Badger here in the states don't stay in the same sett for an extended period of time... they're travellers by all accounts that I've read or heard. They're a bit smaller here than the European... more agressive, they don't survive on worms... they eat critters and whatever seems right at the moment, and can dig through soil like otters swim through water.

Well... that isn't my plan at all... but I've an idea of yours. Thanks for the reply...

I've been tossing around the idea of putting my patterdale over a lurcher gyp that is 1/2 whippet 3/8 grey and 1/8 bc... both are black, he's broken coated and she's smooth. I've been wondering about what type might come of it. Pics Removed...

Went out today and got a couple of digs in. Nothing special to say, it was hot in the sun All Day... had some Hard digging even though it was shallow, under 3 feet except one was probably 4 feet. But had a lot of fun just being out with the dogs and cutting up on each other and each others dogs... they really didn't mind.

 Y.O ? Don't even mention That screwed up twister to me, mate! Evil, scheming bitch! No; This is more my cup of tea, mate! Oh yes! Could Do My Job! Any of you lads fancy a bit more? Haven't you heard that other old saying..."never judge a book by its cover?" She's a bigg'n but who knows what else? Not personally my type but personality etc. could far outweigh the matter IF I was looking for. btw... pun wasn't intended but then once I typed it thought how funny it was!

HONESTLY.... Personality and Compatability means far more than looks. The rest is just an added bonus... everybody has a different taste in that area. For instance to me the first thing I notice about a woman is her Eyes... thats the lure... then go from there to T&A. But without those things I first mentioned... its just a feck. A mate of mine has a good saying... "if its a small load... do it by hand".

Pulled turkey breast, sprinkled with course ground black pepper on evenly butter'd bread. Try this if you want a surprise... peanut butter and tuna sandwich.... better be a fish lover though.

DeanD replied to Autumnbriar's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Autumnbriar, I've spoken with the department of natural resources several times regarding hunting and specifically with terriers in using them for nuisance animal control. In my area I give our wardens plenty of credit... they don't like the anti's any more than you or I. The DNR here supports what we do so long as you follow their rules... get the proper licenses. Anyone working their terriers should firstly look up their states DNR licensing and regulations, then find their specific laws regarding Nuisance Trapping and apply for the license. Nuisance Trapping covers a wide range of metho -

Looks like where I grew up.

I can see them fine, two young lads with rabbits, a gold lurcher and the one boy is kneeling on a box of ferrets. They look proud of their catch. Who are they? And who is the older lad in the other dog file picture?

Not PICKING on him, just sounded like he's on about them... and he is perfectly right to be. I just figure someone is going to take the piss.

The last one is a tough one there.... I need to relax with some music and ponder. Quite a few strange ones there actually, some that I haven't a clue and just guessed. Shite... I just read jackhalladay's post... I missed some feck'n EASY ones. LOL!

Rymie... if this is all in the UK why are they trying to breed smaller. btw... your post if a very broad statement. Me thinks you're going to have to prove what you say with some of the people on here. :11:
