5/8 Whippet x 1/4 American Staghound x 1/8 Pit
DeanD replied to DeanD's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
Here are the three male pups, I'm keeping the largest of the three as he's going to be rough coated (on the right in the picture below.) The other two "appear" to be smooth coated but could change. They will be three weeks old on Wednesday. -
Nice pair of pups Lofti.

I believe those were originally intended for terriers by the size of the platform and the structures apparent age? Digger Dan, just modify the beds to fit a lurcher mate. If they have access to outdoor runs that should do them so long as you take them out as you said. Got to admit though, as someone else has said, have never seen such a quality argument in the for sale section before. LOL!

Eyes are open, pups are just walking now. All healthy looking pups. As of today there should be One dog pup available unless someone jibbs and then there are still only two dog pups. Three are spoken for definitely. Which dog pup(s) is or are available is still unknown at this time, but as I said all are healthy looking and good acting for their age. I'll get a pic again soon. Stud: Sooty Sam / Laguna lines, KC registered Whippet Dam: 1/2 Staghound x 1/4 Pit x 1/4 Whippet, mix; no papers. Location: Dayton, Ohio, USA, price is negotiable... less than $201USD. Thats approxima -
5/8 Whippet x 1/4 American Staghound x 1/8 Pit

Here is a pic of the dam, the stud and a 3 year old female off the stud from a different bitch. Location: 1/2 hour north of Dayton Ohio. Price is dependant on who wants a pup. Working homes get preference but pup or dog shall not be passed on or sold to anyone and comes back to me alone if the working home cannot keep the dog for any reason. Could be a sweet deal for someone. Anyone wants more info... send me a PM. -
Two male pups available. PM for details.

I missed it... did Franklin get beat again? Franklin was trained by Anderson Silva specifically to fight Silva the Axe Murder you know... so if the fight wasn't what you expected, what else did you expect.

I guess we could all look at people breeding dogs this way... you work hard and do a good job working, does it piss you off if someone else makes more money than you doing the same thing or they live somewhere else and it pays more or they just don't have to work as hard and still get more money? Feck it then, pass a law saying we all get paid the same money world wide for the same job same output, slack a little and you're out, someone will be standing ready to take your place when you fall. Could do the same with dogs I suppose... set requirements on them, a breed warden you know

What does one look like? I've wondered if the Plummer Lurcher doesn't have either GSD or Belgian Malinios in them possibly? I would think the Malinois might be a very good cross... very smart, intense dogs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mLqiqLlnJo & And lastly... Belgians make some Great Beer!

I think I know what Catcher1 is on about. I've said as much the same. You see, most of the supposed "dogmen" on here are young lads and they talk a lot of smack, especially on some of the older dogmen. The older dogmen don't even bother for the most part, some don't have a computer, some could less give two shyts anyway as they've done it all and are laughing over the pointless arguments about which dog this or that. I've seen some of the better known and at one time well respected people get slagged by these same types, calling them peddlers, showers... whatever. I hope I'm around to see

sad but true there as staffman said I no that now..is there any way of getting papers for him now?hope so as i would have liked to use him for stud he looks like he'l be a good un.. I think you should read staffman1's reply again.

Some of you jumped the gun a bit there with your judgement there didn't ya? I don't suppose any of you might have thought that the lad could even have sold the dog and it got cut working in the field either now did ya? Seems a lot like something an Anti would do... point a finger blindly all the while implying how wonderful they themselves are. Sorry mates... just saying it how I see it. Fook'n dumbshits.

go to this site http://www.injoy-1.com/catal_1.htm According to your original post you want to use your bicycle... that may work if you have a stand made to lift the rear wheel off the ground. You'll want to put a wheel on the back with No Tire. You should be able to make a continuous loop circuit that way. All the pictures everyone is showing you is with a "take up" wheel... not meant for continuous loop systems. They work but you have to run the lure out everytime. Use your back wheel as said and just loop the string around it and keep the line a little tight so it has friction on y

Wish you were here in the states, I've a gyp of the same bloodlines and I'd like a dog of the same. I do wish they had a bit more coat though.

Hello, its been a while since I've been on any of the boards. Today I got a message titled "From Administrator"... turned out to be spam and the member has been deleted. So while I was here I thought I'd post this... hope it isn't breaking any rules. If our gyp stands this weekend and all goes well I'll have pups available for $50... just enough to cover food, shots and fuel costs for the person owning the stud to drive here. The stud is down off the Sooty Sam line... and the dam is half Bob M's staghound line. The pups will be 5/8 Whippet, 1/4 staghound and 1/8 Pitbull. Not trying

That pic would have been appropriate about Christmas time... The Nutcracker. :11:

old wifes tales mate. no different than anyother terrier,, good and bad ,in all of them, the same as all livestock I think you're missing my point... or I'm missing yours are you saying that you'd send a baying type into an undiggable place.
-
To be honest, I never really knew what to make of him. I got booted off the other Patt board and that I'll admit pissed Me off but only because it was done without warning or explanation. Once I knew why... it didn't bother me... he and the other mods there didn't really "know" me so I couldn't blame them... and if its good for the team... I'll take the hit.

go outside and run ya hand down dogs back yal find a coat that keeps it warm before long we will be putting hot water bottles in and tucking em up in bed or i give in if you cant see common sense then carry on im only giving some advice a i bet you have got a block kennel have you?? I understand your point King, and I've thought the same at times. The block would be more durable for sure but its a very poor insulator. A wood insulated box type sleeping area would help. I guess it all comes down to what a person has available to work with, how much money and perhaps even more

I may be off with this but... wasn't the Fell terrier the type to be sent where you wouldn't or couldn't send the other Type terriers? Horses for courses and all that. jmo...

Just saw these... Nice Job! I'd be to put up any pics of mine now for sure! Mine are 32" wide and 8' long... raised platform and didn't put enough slope to the floor, they're only 3' tall at the back with 4' at the front, top is completely roofed and boxes attached to the back. I'm gonna start over Again this year if I have the funds. This time ground level and concrete... I hate cleaning this bastardized kennel that I have now. What I have now works but there is a lot to be desired when I see some of the ones others are building.
-
Those are some Great pics Dev. Looks like a nice kennel you've got to work from too... makes me jealous.

I think people sometimes put too much expectation in a dog period. By that I mean its like everybody wants to "keep up with the neighbor etc." Not all pups start the same... shit.. look at people in school... not all are top students or their wouldn't be "top students" but the top student isn't always the bread winner in the end is it? Some of us wouldn't be alive today if our parents culled the way some say they cull dogs... I'd bet They wouldn't be here either. LOL! Start the dog when you feel the dog is ready... some start early... some start late... its a gamble any way you look
-
I agree. Funny thing that its always the dog and no attention paid to the bitches they lined to produce the good ones.
-
I've limited experience compared to many of you, but my opinion is that it will depend on the Type of terrier your pup is for one. I too think that entering a terrier to early can ruin it... and letting it have as much as it will handle at any given time will ruin it. I know, I've done it and a price was exacted. Something I used to see posted but rarely do now... WE are the stewards of these terriers... that doesn't mean you take them out hell bent for leather and throw caution to the wind. But suite yourself... to each their own and I hope whatever you do it works for you.
