    Lol have fun i prefer on foot these days never was one for leaving the ground much without a parachute. Breeding and showing my welsh C's were my thing these days i only have a couple and spend more time with the dogs.

    Thanks for all your replies, hmmm much as i thought. I did wonder about the washing down to wash away all the scent. Looks like there may be a few battles ahead and i will have to be super vigilant.

    The other night my bitch was taken out and had been to ground she was out for 5 hours, when she came in her kennel mate went mental, at first she was sniffing all around her and then attacked her. Since that night they have all been very temperamental. The terrierman said he recons that they were jealous of her. I didnt think dogs had emotions like that, he said he had not experienced anything like it in all his years working terriers. Has anyone else experienced this? Any sensible thoughts please to help avoid a situation in the future.

    I bought a week pup broken coated like that because we felt sorry for the conditions she was living in, she smelt terrible all the other pups had bashed her around and she was full of worms. We brought her home and nursed her back to healthy state and she grew. She is a fine bitch now but it cost us a lot of time and money worth it as we have a great dog in her.

    The KC is crap agreed but they also take recommendations from the breed society so who is really responsible for the damage done to the breeds? The breeders have a lot to answer for and I cant see why there would be any desire to put working dogs into the KC i feel that amongst the people who have patterdales there is a sort of pedigree as most know there lines and what they are aiming to achieve. That is written down on nice scraps of paper and passed along the line. Each know there dog and in your heart you know if that line should be bred from.

    I have infra red heating but only use it when the weather is very bad or an animal is injured.

    They look small but i have a pup here who was very small and she has grown into a chunky little bitch now. Trouble is you want a pup that has had the best and strongest possible start in life to avoid future problems. Atb what ever you decide to do.

    Nice to read a funny story for a change. I was out with my pup Buster when he was about 10 weeks old and two adult terriers, they took off chasing a fox around the lake and they went around about 3 times before the fox took off. Seen a similar thing with the hounds out with the hunt this year, the fox leading them a merry old dance in a triangular area, hounds going round and round as the fox ran off up the hill. Anyone else got a funny story ?

    sorry to read of your loss, i think over the years the dogs that have passed and each time ive said im not having another nothing can replace that one. Truth is nothing can replace them but another one usually comes along that proves you couldnt live without another dog. Give yourself some time and have that whiskey.
