There is such a wide variation from region to region and grass management issues, grass quality, size of horse ponies, quality of stables, will they be out all winter or in during the winter etc its to variable to answer really.
They use to say an acre a horse but in these days of quality grass management, lamanitis risk etc you have to weigh it all up.
I suppose in nature anything is possible, i have a bitch that comes in season on the dot 6 months so i know when she is due and do keep her under strict supervision. I have another bitch that comes in season only once a year.
If she had pups at the end of June that would mean she was in heat about April time so 6 months later could be possible and if so its best to be safe than sorry so if in doubt i would keep away from other dogs as you wouldnt want a bitch getting in pup again. It is quite soon though.
i am so pleased you have him back i suspect the young boy is over the moon and that is so important to be robbed of a dog at any age is terrible but a childs dog.
I have a couple of my terriers that are obedience trained and they are brilliant most of the time but if they are in that mood you have no chance they take one look at you turn and run. Another one 18 months old i dont think you could ever trust her to come back off of the lead, Buster, scarlett and Ruby the pups im bringing on now, well Ruby always has cocked a deffin and think thats just the way she is, Scarlett at the moment always comes back, Buster will in the main come back, but if they pair up and run you have no chance. It doesnt help that where i live we are surrounded by badgers, fox
My pup Buster speaks for itself lol.... I have always picked names that are easy when your out calling them so they flow so we have Bess, Tess, spud, Jill, Milly, Molly, Tuppence, Buster, Ruby and Scarlett phewwwy.....
Some strange hunts these people attend, ive seen foxes far superior to the hounds and he has lead them a merry old dance. Glad i dont go to the same hunts as them.
