  1. The 6th April Countrymans Weekly is the show edition - so that usually has most of the main shows in. I've tended to use it and found it pretty good to be fair. Someone is also compiling a show dates calander on here - so look back in this section and you might see something. Thanks
  2. I can only speak from my own experiences but I can't fault them, hence why I bred my bitch with something similar - just the once to have a pup off her - as I've said before if this pup turns out half as good as her mum I'll be over the moon. Fields are pretty small around us - so for take off speed, turning ability etc I can't fault them. Go for hours with big hearts, pretty fearless and will have a go on anything (preban). My old bitch now has had a few injuries - ripped belly on barbed wire and had to have a toe off but apart from that nothings gone wrong with her in 7 years - so I don't t
  3. Thanks for the comments lads and Shazza. Be good to see some up to date ones of Crush. Rogues 20" now and 32lb, back end is still high compared to her front - so I'm guessing she's got abit more to go - she enjoys running with the other dogs and having a play - being abit ignorant here but what do you look for when you talk about having lots of knuckle or not much knuckle left (I know its to do with growing) but not sure how you'd determine how much is left to go etc?
  4. Only took the two out today as Luna is still laid up with her leg. Rogue is coming up to 5 months now and is catching up fast height wise with Gyp (7 in July) Struggle to tell them apart from a distance sometimes.
  5. Thank Mate - appreciate that and hope to hear off you soon.
  6. I know this is slightly off track - but NOG - would you happen to know of a guy from Gaerwen in Angelsey who breeds lurchers - his name is Dylan?? Got my bitch of him 7 years ago and she's the best dogs I've ever owned. Unlike the guy you mention above - his kennels and set up were perfect, his dogs (even his ferrets) well looked after and a genuinely nice bloke. Now I've had a pup off the bitch I bought off him - I'd just like to know more about my bitches history - can anyone help?
  7. Agree with Rocky ref doubling up to start with - sounds like you've got a good one there mate. Mine was hard going for training etc but started spending time with her on her own and she did come good at about 20months - I know some say they're a bit slower to mature? - like your's she walks by my side without lead, even when the others are mooching up ahead - very loyal bitch and remarkably gentle with people, glad I persevered with her.

What ever you do don't call it DAVE - which is what a bloke who bought one of my russel pups called it!
  9. Yes mate you can - but if you don't want to endure the afghan racing (!!!) then I'd come abit later - about 2ish - most of it should be over by then.
  10. Tried some fresh sprats from Morrisons on mine the other day - they were 40p for about 20 fish. They loved them. Also all the fat from the meat/grill pan etc gets chucked in for mine I've alwasy fed mine predominantly dry food but since taking advice on her I've changed mine over pretty much and the change has been good.
  11. Confirmaton racing starts on 20th March through toOctober for anyone in north west/north wales who might be interested. Be nice to get some good races going lads.
  12. Only got Jess (7 yrs old now) JRT for bushing but if there's something in there shes on to it. The Mrs dog really but is a good little worker too. Too much attitude with me - prefer my girls (the lurchers) much more gentle natured and better bloody behaved!! LOL
  13. Nice X mate. I've got a 1/4 bull, 1/4 deerhound - she's got a very slim/narrow head. Shes turned into a good dog. good luck with yours.
  14. Rory4 she is 2 years old - 1/2 greyhound, 1/4 deerhound, 1/4 bull. 26tts and 50lb. Scalestails - glad to hear yours is ok - sure you've got your dogs welfare at heart - can't imagine anyone not having it. Normally, I just keep cuts clean and leave them to heal but because of where this was and is looked pretty nasty, thought it was best to get her seen to - the vet charged £57, which was less than I was expecting TBH. Vet said best to get it stitched as if left to heal on its own it would always be likely to open up there when running - how much of that is true I don't know. Bea
  15. Thanks for the replies lads. Just got her back from the vets. 4 stitches - shes asleep on sofa now - she's still not with it properly. Quite a gash, about 2"wide, 1" high so it had opened right up - couldn't see that last night for all the blood and she wouldn't let me near it. Hopefully because she's had the stitches it won't keep opening up - but its worrying because its by the tendons/ligamnets - anyone got any similar experiences and did your dog recover ok?
  16. Agree, my whippet/greyhound was easiest to train. The JRT is a little b*****d for me however does what ever the mrs tells it to - very much a one woman dog that one!
  17. Went out for a mooch last night. Luna caught a rabbit but as she was bringing it back noticed she was limping badly. Got her home and shes cut the back of her front leg around the ankle area. Cleaned it up as best I could although she was in pain when I was cleaning it and stayed with her for a few hours in the house before putting her out. Got her out this morning and she's keeping it up obviously but whats concernin me is that its still bleeding - not pissing with blood but a slow steady flow - going to vets this afternoon - hope its nowt too serious! Think she'll be out of action for a
  18. Me as a nipper when my uncle used to take me out.
