  3. Havent' had a reply off him yet but at least I know what it will say. So given the reply I knew I'd get off Hanson I emailed Matt Wright - Conservative MP who is in my local constituency or what ever you call it - he replied this morning to say: This is a Parliamentary matter. The Assembly does not have any say over the Hunting Bill. That said I believe that farmers and landowners need a range of measures that suit the different conditions they face in order to control predators. Without a range of methods there is a risk that suffering could result. Therefore there is a role for

  6. Our pup was the same and she's kennelled with her mother! So I really feel for you guys who have got a pup on their own. She still does it now when we're going to car or coming in from somewhere - totally ignore her and it lasts 30 seconds now instead of 5 minutes.
  7. Hes mine - 1/4 bull, 1/4 deerhound, 1/2 grey. Been quite slow to mature but its clicked for her now and she takes rabbits well and retrieves live to hand.
  8. thanks mate hopefully he will, Nice dog - is he on barf? I moved mine over from complete dried food to mainly barf diet with veg, and they all dropped lb's but seemed to gain muscle without changing exercise regime. I'm a convert now to this diet! LOL :notworthy:
  9. northern boys have always had lurchers, they just dont shout it out and boast about it,with there 5 out of 5 hare dogs like to see these amazing 5 out of 5 dogs catch 5 out of 5 in the small field and ground we run down here, lets be honest who many dogs get 5 out of 5 hares given fair law Good point that - last Waterloo cup the catch rate of the day I was there was about 10% - make you wonder?
  10. Hi all, I think its a bit of both with genetics playing the bigger part. I got this email today from a fella who bought one of my pups so he's 5 months old now (if it had been a bitch I'd have probably kept it)- it actually went to a pet home - but I'm persuading the fella to give the dog another 6months and then get it in training for working - this pup was the biggest of the litter and Im looking forward to seeing him in the next couple of months. "out on a walk last sunday evening, flint took off like a bullet suddenly , it was a rabbit it had a good start on him but he caught it
  11. Just to keep those who are interested up to date - I've had an email tonight to say the 20th March date has been cancelled due to one of the organisers being ill, so next date is 10th April.

  14. Gyp - 7 years old in July. Not really that old I suppose but really grey in the face now, missing a toe and given me a lovely pup - but still a top bitch in my eyes.
  15. HE BE 7THIS YEAR Smart mate - have you studded him out? -if so do you know how his pups turned out? As I say - all nice but he's eyecatching and the type of look I like.
  16. My pup 5 months. - shes 20"tts and 32lb Mother - 1/2 greyhound, 7/8whippet, 1/8th deerhound - 23" to shoulder Father - 3.4greyhound, 1/4whippet - 26/27tts
  17. Tried mine on raw sprats the other day (only about 40p from Morrisons) - had a bit of a sniff and were a bit unsure to start with but seemed to enjoy them once they had a go.
  18. Lve the photos Clipper - brilliant action shots - wish I could take a photo like that. Lovely dogs.
  19. Sounds like a different thing to what my lurcher had - but she had a bald nose. Skycat advised kelp powder and raw diet with some rice - in a month the change is remarkable - hair starting to grow back and looks much better. The kelp powder promotes hairgrowth - so might be worth giving that a go?
  20. Thanksfor all comments. When fasting is it best to fast your dog on a day you know you won't be working it - or doesn't that make any difference?
