  1. I rate the whippet/greyhounds. Got a 23" bitch(1/2 grey, 3/8 whippet, 1.8th deerhound and had a litter off her last year and kept a bitch pupback. I bred her with a 3/4 grey, 1/4 whippet in the hope of getting a bit more size in the pup and she's as tall as the dam now so think she's still got an inch or two to go.Great dogs imo.
  2. Are you on about the old woman? If so last time I was in Selby (5 yrs ago now) we camped for the weekend - my bitch came first in under 23" smooth three days on the trot - the day she judged she didn't even place her. That year my bitch came in the last 6 in countrymans weekly in the under 23". She didn't place my pup at all this year either -LOL - she musn't like my dogs!! Ha Ha.
  3. Very sad for you and your loss - but thatsa good age and you gave that dog a good life.
  4. Too right - as I look down at my old warrior at my feet I know I'm doing the right thing. She looks like shit but has still got her character. She's sleeping in the house now for the first time since she was young and I think she's getting used to it pretty quick!
  5. Ps I'd also like to add keeping an old smashed up dog is a liability these days,it's just a charge sheet waiting to happen,if the dog has no use why keep it? What happens if you've got a 5 year old that's "smashed up" a dog in its prime? Well my friend if you read the thread it says past it's sell by,if it's only five well it's still got it's uses I'd say, so ye would keep it It was the charge sheet coment ok my bad well it's worth the risk if it's still getting worked This thread has come at quite an appropriate time to me. I've decided to retire my oldest (and first) w
  6. Week in week out there are ads for Hancocks in "the countrymans weekly" - shouldn't they adopt the same approach as THL: when it comes to puppy farming and not allow puppy farmers/peddlers to advertise with them?

Heres mine - she's 7 now still got loads of stamina - Have never done more than about 20 slips (as we're pretty short on bunny's) but thats never been a problem. Lot of stamina and alot of heart on bigger things too (preban) so can't fault them.
  8. Hope he doesn't have the same probs as your pup and that other fellas pup with the blood in his stools which breeder thinks is "normal" - is your pup ok now?
  9. great pics and scenery. Lovely dogs - got a soft spot for the fawn ones!
  10. I'm no expert but my dog had stitches put in and had to take her back 10 days later for them out - as you've had the others out I guess you should get that one out too? Vet shouldn't charge you again - as he shouldn't have missed it in the first place!
  11. She's tidy mate. Wish mine had stayed that colour!
  12. I'll be there and at the Waen show - both good shows - looking forward and nice to have something local.
  13. For Sthelenshunter, boots and rob190364 Its on today register for races from 12noon with first race starting at 1pm - we'll probably get there about 12.30ish onwards. Rob not sure how old your dog is but they will let puppies over 6months race -I've checked as I'm going to let my little one have a race against his litter brother - will be nice to see how that dog is turning out. Then there is a range of races from 100m right through to the longer ones. The lurchers will be racing between the afghan recovery times so it can be abit tiresome waiting for races but its the onely one I know
  14. My 3 bitches all come into season within a month of each other - just once a year between April and May. My pup (6months) hasn't had her first season yet but I'm assuming once she does she's likely to fall into the same pattern as the other 3.
  15. smart looking hounds mate.....very nice well done,a credit to you.. Thank for nice comments mate.
  16. I was but since advise on here have moved over to raw, veg, bit of pasta rice etc. Dogs are better for it and a skin condition on one of my dogs have all but cleared up in a couple of months. I'll never go back to complete only again.
  17. Heres my two current ones. Light coloured one bull/deerhound/grey. Darker one whippet/grey. 2nd pic is this years pup - 6 months - whippet/grey.
  18. I right click the photo I want then chose the option to open with PAINT - then click in pixels and put it down to about 500 - should be fine to add then
  19. Nice looking dog. What way's it bred? Thank you Nook/Anna - shes 1/2 greyhound, 3/8th whippet, 1/8th deerhound. As I've said before - best little bitch I've ever had.
  20. Fantastic results in just over two months on a new diet and the kelp powder! As I say the vets tested her for everything and were just left scratching their heads after about 2 years of trying allsorts - the colours even come back in her nose ie its gone black again - before it was a sort of greyish colour. I'll put another pic on in about 6 months - I'm pretty sure by then her nose will be " as good as new" - BTW - no scabs at all in ears either.
  21. Heres a pup pic of my 2 year old bitch, she's on the right, sister on left and rest of litter were heavier built, 1/4 bull in these, pic at 6 wks old..
  22. Heres an update another month on - remarkable results - all natural - thanks again Skycat! 1st picture is today and second pic is at start of treatment.
